For Mother's day my family and I decided to go celebrate at BJ's with a nice brunch. However, when we got there all of our expectations dissolved when our server, Mr. Brandon R., greeted the table and started to make uncomfortable discriminatory remarks towards my husband and his brother. He also made my husband upset by rudely putting his hands on him without his permission. My husband is a veteran of the US Marine Corps and suffers from PTSD. The invasion of privacy and disrespect toward my family was present from the moment he introduced himself to us. Both me and my brother-in-law are also veterans of the Marine Corps and felt equally disrespected. We raised our concerns to the hostess who told us we were going to be assigned a new sever and she was going to send the manager over to speak to us about the incident, but that never happened. Brandon R. came back repeatedly to our table after we asked for a new server. We informed Brandon R. and explained to him about our requested for a new server and that he was making my husband uncomfortable. Seconds later Mr. Robert (Bobby) Lanfranco introduced himself to us as the BJ's manager. We explained the situation to him and asked him if it was possible to have a new server or move to another section of the restaurant, but his answer to us was shocking. He told us no, he wasn't going to do that. He explained, "the company's policy and the state of California prohibits him from changing his servers and guests to protect his servers from discrimination." I find this very interesting when we are reporting to him a discrimination incident caused by his server Brandon R. I'm very disappointed with my visit to BJ's. What was supposed to be a celebration day with my family turned out to be a dissatisfying experience at the hands of one of your employees Brandon R. I'm not sure if I will ever go and visit any of your locations again. I have visited your locations multiple times throughout the years and today turned out to be the very worst and most awful visit we've experienced with your business. I look forward to hearing from one of your dedicated staff members in regards to this matter because this is one of my favorite places to...
Read moreList of things they were out of: Root beer Vodka chosen right from the server's device Avacado egg rolls Prime rib (after we already ordered it and our server told us there was enough of the limited quantity for us)
My husband and I took our friends here as one of their last Cali dinners out. We waited 40min. for a table (not that long on a Saturday night in our opinion), but as soon as we sat down the problems started. BJs is well known for their root beer so we ordered a couple root beers and a shot of vodka only to be told they were out of both. Okay so we ordered avacado egg rolls while we decided what we wanted to drink and were told they were out of the avacado egg rolls. We switched to the nachos which were greasy and soggy and moved onto ordering our entrees. My husband asked the waitress if they had the prime rib special tonight and she said yes they have enough so 3/4 of us ordered the special. 15 minutes later, the manager comes out and says sorry we only have enough for 1 prime rib. 2 of us have to change our order. When the waitress came to our table 10min later I asked her to show me the vodkas they do have on her device. She showed me and I chose from the device and she came back 15min later to tell me they actually don't have that vodka. Icing on the cake is she brought our food about 10min after that and she said the one with the green beans so I said yeah I think that's me to which her response was "well you guys apparently changed your order with someone else so I don't know." As if we wanted to change our order. My husband ordered his prime rib well done and it came out medium rare. The chili that was supposed to come with it never came so we had to ask for it to go at the end of our dinner. We didn't make a fuss because we had friends with us but paid almost $200 for a crummy night out for 4 people. Will not...
Read moreThis morning I received an email from BJs telling about their free pizookie day. Seeing that I would be on that side on town around lunch, I figured, why not?? Stop!!! It's a trap!! My children often refer to BJs as "the place daddy hates" as well as "the place that takes forever." Generally, I like the food and sometimes, just sometimes, the service is decent and relatively quick so I took a chance. 80 min, 80 long minutes with just me and my children stuck waiting for an end game and all I can say is I'm glad to be out of there. The food took forever! My daughter's mac n cheese was so overcooked, the noodles were a giant glob of mush. Even the strawberries were mushy. The barbacoa chicken, although usually pretty good, was off today and I barely ate it. I tried to order the pizookie early since the food was taking an eternity but the server made me wait. He put the order in when he saw we were done with our food. When it finally arrived, the cookie was raw!!! By that point, I just told my daughters to eat the ice cream so we could get out of there. Initially I was brought the wrong bill. I anxiously waited for my server to return and told him about the raw pizookie. He didn't seem to care and at that point, neither did I. The manager happened to stop by and asked how everything was going. I told him the cookie was raw and he said he would have made another for me if I said something. While I appreciated the gesture, I said I had just got it and I'd already been there for over an hour so I was ok with not getting a replacement, non raw cookie. He took my bill land knocked off $7 which was also kind of him. I swear, I must be a glutton for punishment. Why I keep returning is a mystery to me. If you value your time and patience, avoid this restaurant like the plague!! You've...
