We WERE regulars to this cottage inn as it was right around the corner from our house- until we got sick of the bad "small town service." The (owner?) presumably was totally out of line last time we ordered from him. We ordered on the phone at 8:13 pm, and ordered a large pizza with 1 topping for pick up. When we arrived 10 minutes later, the pizza wasn't ready- but that's totally fine, and not the problem. The problem was that there was a big ol' sign advertising that if you order a large pizza after 8:00 pm with one topping, it's $5.00- and being our pizza wasn't made yet- we told the owner we would like that deal. He refused- with no logical explanation whatsoever. He said "after 8" which we then showed him the call time on our cell phone- at 8:13- he wouldn't even look at it, then said "next time." Then he said nervously,"you didn't ask for the deal on the phone- so next time." NO where did that poster say that we had to "ask for it on the phone." We paid the $12.00 for our crappy pizza and then he nervously said "I can give you a drink" which My boyfriend went to take but realized the only choice was diet pepsi- and he's allergic to aspartame. The (owner?) knew he was in the wrong, as he was VERY nervous. We sat down to eat, and he followed us over to our table and said "If you got the deal you would not be able to sit and eat, so you're ok, you're ok now." At this point my boyfriend got agitated and said "don't worry, we won't be coming back again." we were very uncomfortable and shoved our food down and left....
Read moreWe’ve tried to give this business a chance a few times under new ownership, but experiences have ranged from mediocre to horrible. Today we got part of someone else’s order and were missing part of ours -and when it was brought back (by us) to get our correct item the employee was rude and said “I don’t know what the problem is”. It took talking to multiple people until we were offered our old correct food that had been sitting there for an hour. They were also planning to serve the mistakenly given to us pizza to the person waiting for it- like this went home with us and came back, left their control- and they were going to give it to an unsuspecting person. We also got to observe an employee in the kitchen take off their hat to scratch their head, and then proceed to keep making pizzas and another employee in contact with food was playing with their phone while preparing items. Gross! As someone in the f&b industry I understand staffing is a challenge, but there is no excuse for not training on and consistently monitoring...
Read moreNot sure what happened. My order was given a completely different name (person didn't ask for my name, nor my phone number). When I called to say I was here, the guy argued with me about double checking the store I called.... just to find out that, yes, I am calling the correct store and that they messed up with the name. Given 35-40 minutes tops to get. So suppose to get by 6:55... didn't get till 7:15pm. They need to tell about the wait times BEFORE processing an order. If I had known they were an hour out, I wouldn't have placed my order. No apologies about arguing with me over my order, putting it under the wrong name, or having the extra 20 minute wait. I get that they were busy, an apology goes a long way though.... Not sure if I would order again given how...
