We have been wanting to go to La Cava for a while. It was not as good as what we expected. My husband ordered the eggplant parmesan. It was more of a piece of eggplant rolled around cheese with tomato sauce. Only 2 of these rolls. I ordered porta bello mushroom stuffed ravioli. I was trying something different since I always order eggplant parmesan at any Italian place we go. There were only 6 entrees to choose from to begin with. 4 cheese ravioli, porta bello mushroom stuffed ravioli with mushroom sauce, butternut squash stuffed ravioli with butter and sage sauce, eggplant parmesan, steak, a salmon plate, and a daily special. My husband said it tasted as if they used egg as the binder for the stuffing. The tomato sauce didn’t have anything special about it. Just tomato sauce with basil on top. My ravioli was not very stuffed. There was less than a teaspoon of stuffing in each ravioli. There were 6 on my plate and I came home to eat a half a sandwich to fill me up. I’m the person who always brings home food, because I get full fast. This was not enough. The dessert tray is left uncovered sitting out all evening where people are walking by it constantly. I didn’t even think about ordering from that. If it had been covered I would have loved to had a piece of the coconut cake. My husband had a gelato and said it was decent. I gave the place 3 stars since I didn’t enjoy my food and left hungry. There is only 1 server and then after she takes your order you don’t really talk to her again. There’s another girl who refills your water, takes your plates, brings the dessert, and does your check. I wasn’t sure how to tip since I usually base it off my servers attentiveness and friendliness. I just left $7 since it was over $50 and she read the specials from a piece of paper in her hand.
Also we were sitting at the second table in the middle after walking in so I had a clear view to the window where the food comes out. At this window this, I’m assuming a cook, a guy keeps coming and standing there staring my way. The door is behind me so he was probably just looking at that, but that didn’t make me feel any better while I was trying to eat. Needless to say we came, we ate, and we won’t be going back. I’m sure some of the other food is good, but I don’t like going back somewhere if we didn’t enjoy our...

Located just outside of downtown proper. La Cava provided one of the most unique and delicious dinners I've had in all of Salisbury.
The daily rotating menu provides a unique level of whimsy to any visit. The staff was impeccable and attentive. The drinks were delicious and properly made adding their own unique twist to some classic cocktails.
I ordered the new York strip au poivre which came out and was flambéd table side, adding to the whole experience of the night. The sides were roasted red potatoes and broccoli, which were a little on the bland side, however the steak was beyond excellent. Probably the best steak I've had in Salisbury.
My wife ordered the salmon special which was cooked with a jerk seasoning and served on a bed of fettuccine Alfredo. The salmon flaky and tender with an amazing flavor. Again the side here was a little bland lacking depth of flavor, however in this case it was a welcome compliment to spice and flavors of the salmon.
Price was definitely on the higher end of things but well worth it for the quality of food and the level of service provided.
Southerners be warned however, this restaurant does not have sweet tea! They do however at least have Cheerwine.
Located inside an old church it's very easy to miss on the street, bit that's also what gives it is unique charm.
Would highly recommend for anyone looking to have a romantic date night...

Words can not express how thankful and impressed I am with La Cava. Back in May 2020, my now husband and I were stuck on what to do for our venue after shrinking our 150 person guest list to 35 people. We gave up our huge reception venue and were honestly heartbroken thinking we would have to settle for our wedding reception. I emailed a bunch of restaurants after we decided we will just take our family to dinner. That's when we met the wonderful, Victoria! She showed us the venue and we instantly fell in love with the old church feel of the restaurant. Then, we went in for our food tasting and OMG!!!! So so so good! We were sold!
As the wedding day started to come closer, Victoria worked with me to figure out table arrangements, schedule, band/dance floor setup, etc. All we had to do was drop off our decorations, and Victoria with her team took care of the rest.
On our wedding day, we walked into a dreamlike scene, it honestly felt like a movie. Our guests kept raving about the food, the amazing service, and wonderful drinks! Everyone wants to come back with their own families. It was our dream reception! Thank...
