I would never return to this restaurant again, and I hope anyone who reads this will not support this business. I was traveling to Salt Lake City from out of town and needed something to eat late at night. About the only place still open was Big Daddy’s Pizza, and I placed an order online through Yelp/GrubHub for 40 chicken wings (among other things). I love chicken wings but cannot eat them when they’re completely covered in sauce. I stated in the order instructions: “Please put the sauce only on the side and not on the wings. If that’s not possible, cancel the order.” The wings were delivered with all of them completely covered in sauce, and I knew I wasn’t going to be able to eat any of them. So I called the restaurant to request that they bring me different wings. The second person I spoke to there (who I believe was the manager) was exceptionally rude, argued with me about everything I said, and never apologized or accepted responsibility for the mistake. First, he told me that he pulled the wings out of the oven himself and insisted there was no sauce on them. I told him I had the wings right in front of me and that there very clearly was sauce all over every single wing. Then he told me the restaurant receives the wings “pre-sauced” and that there was nothing he could do about that. I reminded him that my instructions were to cancel the whole order if they couldn’t make them without sauce all over them. He told me that he “could not have cancelled the order because it was placed through GrubHub.” However, earlier in the call, the manager had confirmed that they had my correct phone number; but they made no attempt to call me to tell me they couldn’t fill my order as requested or to ask if I wanted something else instead. Basically, they received an order with instructions stating exactly what I did not want, brought me that exact thing anyway, and then tried to make me feel like it was somehow my fault. I finally got the manager to agree to refund the price of he wings but he said I had to call GrubHub to do it (and, again, he never once said sorry or anything else to indicate they had done anything wrong whatsoever). I called GrubHub and had the price of the wings refunded. Then I realized they didn’t refund the tax/delivery charges associated with the wings, so I called back. GrubHub said they had to call the restaurant to get information on the order. They did refund these other charges, but the refund notice I received via email stated that the refund of these additional charges was actually paid as a courtesy by GrubHub (and not by the restaurant). That means, when GrubHub contacted the restaurant, the manager must have still insisted they did nothing wrong and refused to refund the tax/delivery costs. This was a really terrible customer service experience from Big Daddy’s Pizza (although GrubHub was very polite and accommodating). I ended up throwing all...
Read moreI went to this location to order a pizza at 10:30am and the doors were still locked but The open signs were on. There was an employee inside the store I just kept shaking his head knowing me and shrugging his shouldersRefusing to let me in to order foodEven though they were already open.So I tried calling that same exact locationAnd no one would answer the phoneSo I called the one on 3300 SouthAsking for corporate phone numberAnd instead they gave me the owners phone number of the 800 South location storeWhich I proceeded to call and the guy that answered told me sorry I don't speak English and hung up on me. So then I called the store out in West Valley asked for the corporate phone number and was told that there is no such thing as a corporate phone number for Big Daddy's Pizza. I'm in a wheelchair and is extremely harder for me to get around then the average person especially in the snowy weather. I finally got sick of waiting outside and being ignored i decided to leave and call corporate instead but still didn't get anywhere with it because all of the big daddy's pizza employees at all three locations i called all told me there is no corporate phone number and I wasn't able to find one online anywhere either. I had never been treated so poorly by a food establishmentAnd I am a very great customerThey ate there regularlyBut their customer service absolutely sucksAnd their upper management could care lessBecause according to them there is no such thing as a corporate office for Big Daddy's Pizza which I call bull crapAnd if there is no corporate phone number then maybe the owner of that establishment should speak EnglishSo that I can help the customers that are calling in to get the helpLove their food but their establishment and their customer service management sucksSo highly disappointed in thatI expected moreOut of that establishment honestlySo maybe if you can afford delivery go ahead and order through themBut if you're doing walk-in serviceI would think twiceCuz you probably won't get helped.
Sure Im open to giving it another chance but i don't think i should have to pay for it. I should be accommodated for my time to get out there just to be ignored. Let me know if your interested on doing something like that for me. Thanks for your response and I hope to hear from you...
Read moreI hope my poor experience last night was an anomaly. I've been there twice before and got prompt, excellent service. The food always tastes great.
I went in at around 8pm. I don't know how many minutes I was at the counter, clearly visible in my neon yellow work coat, and I could see two employees in the back of the restaurant. One man was making food while facing me and a woman sat facing me but clearly engrossed in her phone. I don't think either of them even looked my way. I even got two photos of her. After a few minutes, I yelled but either wasn't heard or simply ignored still. That's when I took the photos.
I waited another few minutes and yelled again, louder. The woman didn't hear, and the guy making food had to get her attention and she finally saw me. Why she smiled, I don't know. Then, from behind a wall to the right of the woman, another young woman's head popped out and looked at me for a second before disappearing again.
FINALLY a young guy came out and took my order. I paid and this was the first time I was asked to sign a receipt. It was less than six bucks. No, I didn't leave a tip.
I cooled my heels for the five minutes h experiences e told me it would take and was going to say something about my lousy experience, but a nice gentleman customer came in and I didn't want to taint his experience so I just took my box and left.
Thank god I love the food or I would never go back. In my previous two times there, I got excellent and quick as well as friendly service. Maybe those times it was the manager? Whoever, he cared about giving great service.
I had been recommending Big Daddy's but I'm not going to until I think attitudes have...
