Edit: I am just now seeing this response from the owner, some months later. And I appreciate their honest and candid response. It maybe has been enough months now for them to have found a better ham product. So I will reach out to them and give it another try...
It pains me to write this review at three stars. Because I have been eating at Dee's literally for over 40 years. And most of my previous experiences were always good. But this last visit wasn't partially. Let me start by giving the good: our waiter was excellent. He was on top of things. And he was very polite. As well, the food was out to us very fast, considering they were pretty busy. So these things were good. But the whole reason you go there, for the food, was not. I ordered breakfast. The lumberjack I think it is called? Anyway, came with three types of meat. Eggs and I ordered french toast. The bacon was absolutely soggy and greasy. Clearly not cooked enough. I like my bacon to have some crunch to it. I think that is probably how most of us eat it. But this was as soggy, greasy and limp as I have ever seen strips of bacon. Tasted terrible. And the ham, to me, tasted like store bought, processed ham. One of the most bland, yucky hams I have had a long time. Finally, the syrup served to us was absolutely disgusting. I cannot say it any other way and be honest. It tasted like palin caro or corn syrup. It didn't taste like syrup, maple or have virtually any sweetness to it at all. It may well be the worst syrup I have ever tasted in my life. No joke. So for me two spend nearly $30 for two of us to eat and to get food this bad, I feel kind of burned. And to be honest, I am not sure after all of these years, I will go back. Prices on the food have gone up quite a bit here since my last visit. Like they have most places I suppose. The problem I see, is that also at most of these places with the price increases on food, the quality is now suffering as well. With smaller portions. And cheaper tasting food, that isn't as good of quality. I just was not impressed for $30. C'mon Dees, you have to do better than...
Read moreOh Tina, Tina, Tina..quite possibly the worst manager I've ever encountered. I've been a server for 30 years. Our food was great, server mediocre. I asked for a side of salsa for my omelet and was brought probably 1oz. Lo and behold when the check was delivered our waitress gave us 2 tickets. 1 for our meal the other for my salsa. Almost 1 dollar. Now having been a server for 30 years I expect to be told if something is going to be an extra cost. I told Tina that I didn't know how I felt about paying a dollar for an oz of salsa especially when I wasn't told there was a charge but if she had to she had to. Well here's where the ugly side of Tina comes out. She said well things cost money. I said it's not about that. I wasn't told it would be extra and the size, come on. I've been waitressing for 30 years. They should let someone know. She said well I've been in the restaurant business for 40 years and in case you didn't know foods gone up in price. I mean have you been to the supermarket lately? So condescending. Then she took the check and threw it to the side. There you don't have to pay for it. Then looked at me with a smirk. I looked at her and said, you're not a very good manager are you? She said nope I'm not. I then said are you the gm or is there someone I can talk to about your attitude. What's your name and what's there name. She said Tina. I said is that your name or your supervisors? My name is Tina I just said that. It's Tina it's Tina it'sTina . All over a dollar. I wasn't trying to get anything for free just thought I would let her know I didn't feel good about paying for something so small. Anyways the attitude from her wasabhorrent. . She has no right to be in that position in a service job. Tina you lost many...
Read moreWaitress didn't appear to even care about trying to serve us or see if we needed anything...had to flag her down for each part of breakfast...once for our order, drinks, and even had to ask someone whether or not our food was ready...larger groups that came in after us were already starting to enjoy their meals...and yep they were ready and cold..the person I flagged down brought them to us and apologized and offered to get us a fresh plate each (my son and I)...I declined and stated we actually needed to be somewhere in a bit..but thanked him...waitress never refilled our waters..and my son didn't receive the hot chocolate and whip cream he ordered when we first arrived....our table was bussed and wiped down and we were still waiting for our check...my son got her attention and motioned we needed check..we had to leave..we were already behind with a doctor appointment..she nodded...and guess what...nvr approached our table with a check....I finally had to approach her physically when she was by the receipt register..and she tried to pretend I wasn't there...I had to raise my voice enough to get a couple other workers attention before she validated my request...the cold food was still edible..would have been better at required eating temp...and service I think would have been great if we were seated at another servers booth..I still tipped her 15 percent...if there was any possibility the she wasn't going to split her tips with host and cooks at end of shift..I would...
