Salt Lake City: Perfect for Every Spontaneous Traveler

Korea House is my favorite Korean restaurant in Salt Lake City! I have been eating there for years, and in that time the food has stayed consistently excellent. I adore the hot stone bibimbap, the chapchae, and when I used to eat meat, the bulgogi. The hot stone bibimbap is so hot that the rice is sizzling and will carmelize on the bottom of the pot, and the raw egg will cook in the pot when you mix it in. All of the individual vegetable elements are well-seasoned and the entire dish is a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. My teens like the potstickers and the fried rice and they are delicious as well. The interior is clean and I like the relaxed atmosphere with the pretty Korean art pieces on the wall. The service is always excellent and you typically won't need to wait long for your food. I really enjoy the banchan (side dishes) and they will refill them for free. I think my only criticism is that over the years they have decreased the number of banchan with your dinner, and I wish they had more of them like they used to.

Overall, had a great experience! The kimchi tasted really good - not overly-sweet like other places and not too spicy for an American palette. Other sides were also very tasty. I totally ended up purchasing a container of kimchi to-go (a feature that I love! They sell most of their sides in large take-home boxes if you want some throughout the week). We ordered the bulgogi and stone bowl bibimbop. Both were tasty, but the bulgogi was a little too sweet for me. My one negative is that it was a bit expensive for Korean food. The bulgogi especially at $18 if I remember right. Just two bucks cheaper than all-you-can eat. For something I didn't absolutely love, it was a bit too pricy. I will be going back again to try some of their kimchi jigae, though :)

It was chilly so I felt like tofu soup! Decided to try this spot after flying in late for business. I ordered the seafood tofu soup, it had shrimp, mussels, calamari. The ban chan was standard, I was hoping to get pickled cucumbers or daikon. Soup was delicious, it hit the spot. It wasn’t the best tofu soup I’ve had but it was definitely good. They didn’t provide a raw egg to crack into the soup. Back in San Diego the Tofu house has tofu soup for almost $8-10 less and they give you an egg and more side dishes. It seemed a little pricey for tofu soup which was $21. Service was great, the lady was very attentive and brought me more Kim chi.

We were in the mood for some tofu soup and bibimbap on a snowy Tuesday evening, so we went to eat at Korea House. Despite there only being one hostess/server working, the service was quite good and attentive throughout the meal. All the dishes were flavorful and satisfying, and left us feeling quite content. The decor of the restaurant was also quite impressive, with lovely Asian-inspired accents and an overall modern casual vibe. It was the perfect place to enjoy a hearty meal on a chilly evening.

I was craving some korean food so i came for dinner. I ordered the dolsot bibimbap with beef. My hubby ordered a combination with seafood soon du bu and beef bulgogi. They included complimentary pickles as sides. Everything was delicious. I loved the hot sauce that came with bibimbap. It had really good flavor and wasn't too spicy. The soon du bu was also very well seasoned and that one had a pretty good kick. The beef bulgogi was tender and perfectly cooked. Delicious authentic korean food!
