worst customer service ever! we used to love this place and shopped the often. the mood and atmosphere has changed so much lately. but we still believed in the company and continued to shop there. Today that has changed. I don't think anyone should shop here. My daughter and her friend where shopping and the cashier kept telling them they were acting weird. then he proceeded to accuse them of changing price tags and removing security tags. At this store you surrender your bags to the staff when going into changing rooms. that's a great policy. But they girls had no bags, no pockets in there leggings and no where to hide security tags. Or steal items. The cashier lost all customer service and his mind, and began yelling at these two young ladies in the store. And then continued to follow them out to the parking lot screaming and yelling at them as they are trying to leave the situation. Nothing was stolen no tags were traded no security tags were taking off. I understand being suspicious and protecting your store and your product. But this wasn't one of those situations. as we shop here often we know that there are faces of customers plastered all over the walls with accusations of Thieves. I used to think, oh my people are awful it's terrible to steal from a company like this. But I'm slightly curious as to that if this is the case at all. But not curious enough to waste another minute on this or shop at this place again.
*in response to the owner, I understand and feel that somewhere along the way in your business ownership that you have been done so wrong that you think it's okay to talk to customers as so. The fact that you are accusing me of being a girl who stole from you today, and following your customers around With Your Hawk like security clearly shows this. And I hope that one day that that gets better for you. As for my review I did not state that I was the one there today but I have visited your store many times in the past and also advised friends to shop at your location as well. Of course there's two sides. Yours is well written. Point, The customer service has gone downhill has been going downhill for quite a while but when you like the place you deal with that sometimes. In the short time since my post I've been introduced to a few other reviews and a bice of local blogs centered around your surveillance type security, accusations of people, and the great mugshots you have posted, My review is my opinion and my take on the experiences. Good luck to you and your small...
Read moreWow. The rudest shop in Salt Lake City. Horrible treatment of customers! I will NEVER step foot into IconoCLAD again. I walked in and was greeted and asked if I needed help with anything, I said thanks, but I am just looking (all of this transpired within less than a minute of walking through the door). as I got about 10 feet into the store I was told that I needed to give my purse (a very small backpack-doesn't even fit an Ipad in it!) to the person behind the counter. I had just cashed my paycheck and didn't feel comfortable giving that to a stranger. I looked around and saw that several people were walking around with their purses and bags....much,much bigger than mine by the way. So I said that I don't understand and pointed to the other patrons that had bags and purses and said that my backpack/purse is very tiny and I don't see why I had to give up my personal belongings to them when other people had their belongings? The girl behind the counter just mumbled something about "it's policy" and "they walked in (or we're busy and they walked in...?) so it's policy". She said that twice. I was torn between wanting to shop and wary of strangers to give my purse to. Plus, all of this happened within 2 mins. of walking into the store. I didn't even get to look around! I then got angry, feeling like I was some thief or unwelcome because I was plus size or too old for their "hip, young clothing" I said that I didn't want to shop in a place that treated customers like that and walked out. I never got the chance to see if some sign was "posted" that you had to give up your personal belongings (like a purse or a small backpack) in order to shop. I felt like it was a personal attack because of my weight and my age. Or it was the worst policy in the world to make customers hand over their purses in order shop at a second-hand store! either way I was shocked by the stores treatment and it really made me feel rotten hours later. I didn't want to cry, but the personal attack was too obvious to deny. I had over 8 hundred dollars in my wallet and I was excited to shop at such a fun looking shop. I would have bought something and told all my buddies about it the great place I just found.....instead I walked out feeling awful and self conscious. Now I will let my buddies know to stay away from this place that makes instant judgement on who can shop there and give the sales staff freedom to make customers feel uncomfortable and judged. Way to ruin...
Read moreThey're not clear about how consigning works. I brought in four bins and told them that I had four bins immediately upon coming in the store. I asked if they could take them all and they said yes. They told me they had to go through my bins one at a time, which I thought was weird but that doesn't explain how I ended up waiting for over 2 hours and not even getting all my stuff looked at. I got moved to the back of the line every time someone brought in new stuff, but other people with multiple bins didn't. One person came in with two bins, two hours into my in-store wait, and all of their bins were looked at immediately, before the other person who was waiting who only had one bin, and before my one bin that was left at that point. It's not first come first serve for consigning, which makes no sense. I wasn't told until 2 hours in that they have a "one bin policy" and that that was the reason why mine couldn't be done until everyone else's were finished, and that explanation still makes no sense to me, so I took my fourth bin before they went through it and left. I'm just a bit frustrated that apparently the policy didn't apply to anyone but me... If the policy was for me to get back in line every time I brought a bin in, why wasn't I treated like I was actually in line, instead always being at the back of the line? There's just no logic to it. Also, it's not as much of a vintage shop as it used to be and more than half the store is cheaply made she-in type new merchandise now which...
