The sushi class was way overbooked. I couldn’t see or hear anything the guy was saying due to being smooshed into a tiny space that they added a table to that was oriented differently and hiding behind the big vats of cider in the room. We did a Groupon tour of Mountain West way back when it was newer and more up and coming and it was amazing. They still have great drinks, but they’re definitely more costly. It has changed a lot since we were here last. The description online said we would be shown how to make three rolls, but he vaguely walked us through how to build a single nondescript roll, and then said have at it. We thought we were waiting for everyone to eat their first before he came back and taught us a different one because there wasn’t any communication regarding what was happening. There wasn’t enough rice for us to make the three rolls and had we not stood up in confusion after a while of sitting and wondering (because we couldn’t hear or see to know what was going on), we wouldn’t have even been able to do 2 as we got some of the last of it. I hope they realize in the future they need a bigger space, better communication/instruction, and to possibly have a cutoff of how many people can do a class at a time, seeing as there wasn’t space for everyone to adequately hear/see/learn as well as enough product for everyone to make stuff as described. The guy was nice enough and his sushi rice was perfect, but I thought there’d be more to it, especially considering the price. It was still nice to get out of the house. We decided to try to make our own sushi at home that weekend after this didn’t really scratch the learning itch. I had higher expectations for the...
Read moreThis was one of the best bar experiences I’ve ever had. I am currently training my dog. I was impressed by the way they accepted us. They have a dog friendly patio with heaters. I messaged them to make sure it was ok to come with my dog, they said that the patio was mostly closed for the season, but they would be happy to serve us there if asked. We were graciously accepted this late afternoon. This was awesome exposure for my dog, and I was able to peacefully sit and crochet a scarf. The music was mellow, the servers and owners were so friendly and checked on us attentively. They gave awesome recommendations. I tried the Parley’s Perry, it was sweet and crisp. The pear flavor was great. My favorite was the Sweet Alice. I love peach and the turmeric is so good with it! Both ciders were the best I’ve ever had because they were not overly sweet like most ciders. I overheard some of a tour by who I assume is the owner, and was absolutely fascinated with the couple of facts I learned. Im not usually into that kind of thing but I may contact them about a tour in the future because it looked and sounded so interesting! I was able to see where they make the ciders through the windows inside comfortable wooden booths. The inside is small but has bar and table seating. There is a great view of where the magic happens in...
Read moreCraziness! I went with a group-- all of us from out of state. I called ahead to check that they were serving food, had cider flights (as advertised on the menu and website), and had sweet ciders. All were confirmed. We took an uber, for Friday Night Flights, on Friday night and they did NOT have flights because we could only sit outside and they don't do their flights outside. Apparently because dogs are allowed outside and they can't have glass outside with dogs???AND they only do glass inside and they serve drinks in plastic cups outside?? But we had no option to go inside. When we arrived, we tried to open a locked door with an OPEN sign and someone came out and said, " Can I help you?" (Yes. We are here for food and cider). She then told us to go to the patio. The waitress wasn’t sure if the if the kitchen was serving food! And they were not. Can I please have my money back and get reimbursed for our uber ride? I was embarrassed that I took friends here for a...
