Nov 2022 I recently relocated to SLC from San Diego and needed to line up housing rather quickly before departing SD, which didn’t allow for me to tour any complexes in person. I worked with Tais in the leasing office and was pretty nervous/anxious about the commitment I was making without seeing the property, neighborhood, etc. Tais completely understood and handled everything in a way that put me at ease. She provided me multiple videos of different available units and exercised what must have been great patience when dealing with my many questions over many phone calls and emails. This is a large luxury complex that undoubtedly requires much from its staff on a daily basis, but I never felt that way. I felt important, appreciated, and as though I were the only person that needed something on the days that I called … a ridiculous notion given the size of this operation, but that’s just how professional and courteous Tais was with me. I was literally looking for any reason to not sign the lease … anything at all that felt off and she never provided it. I signed and am thrilled I did … this place is AMAZING! I truly feel lucky to be living here. Tais is absolutely wonderful, but it definitely seems like the entire staff is equal to the task of keeping this complex in the impressive shape it’s in. Thank you Tais, you’re very much appreciated.
UPDATE Nov 2023 I recently completed my lease and renewed immediately. I didn’t need to think about it. I didn’t need to make a pro/con list. I didn’t need to consider other neighborhoods. This is a first me, as I usually suffer from analysis-paralysis with apartment living considerations and a desire to try living in different neighborhoods of the cities I live in … not this time! Hardware is still the BEST and renewing my lease was a genuine no-brainer!
**Update: We want to caution anyone considering signing a lease with Greystar. - when you decide to move-out they will confiscate your deposit and send you an additional invoice for the cost of repairs and cleaning for the next tenant. We left our apartment with normal wear and tear (in any other parts of the country) and they stole our deposit and sent a bill, which we promptly ignored. However, they then send the balance to collections and damage your credit profile if you don't pay up. Our apartment was left in better condition than when we moved-in, and the only 'damages' were holes remaining from hanging items including a TV and shelves, things they approved when we inquired. The staff didn't conduct a walk-through on our last day - just told us to leave the keys in the kitchen. Of course! They had every intention of passing on costs that owners/landlords typically absorb as a cost of doing business. This practice should be illegal and the State of Utah and city of Salt Lake need to step it up. I'll be sharing my experience with elected officials and if you look hard enough you'll read the same story from hundreds of former tenants.
Our experience at Hardware has been one slow, steady decline since March, 2022. Too much wrong to put in one review. The latest problem is pigeons. I've made multiple requests, on-line and in-person, over the past two months for Greystar management to address the influx of pigeons impacting my unit, specifically the front door entrance and patio. Excrement has rained down on our outdoor carpet, furniture and cushions. I've been cleaning it up all summer but decided to quit this past weekend. Enjoy our view and experience (and this is only after a couple of days).
In response to the Owner: As it relates to my Unit - No, you haven't been "proactive and diligent in addressing this matter as swiftly and effectively as possible." You apparently don't appreciate my patience, therefore, since nothing has been done to resolve the unsanitary conditions outside my front door, the SLC Health Department has...

I was living in Oregon prior to moving to Utah, and as soon as I was in touch with the leasing office they made it a seamless move for me. I was working closely with Gabbie initially, who was always available by email or phone whenever I had any questions or concerns. I never had to wait long for a reply or a phone call back. Once I made the drive to Utah, they set me up with my apartment, gave me my first jaw dropping in-person tour (the property is just STUNNING), and provided me with move-in carts to make transferring my boxes to my room easier. For the first month of living there the hardware staff would check in to make sure everything has been moving along smoothly which allowed me to feel so comfort here and able to reach out for anything.
The property itself is well taken care of, the gym is spacious and most the time you have the place to yourself. The pool is heated, and the library is comfort and quiet- they even provide fresh cookies daily :)
I also LOVE my two bedroom two bathroom apartment, its very modern but homey. Even my kitten loves this apartment- whenever I come home I always find him cuddled up on the couch or entertained looking outside the window.
Hardware is in a great location, close to the Gateway center and the vivant arena which makes going to the Utah Jazz games SO CONVENIENT.
I could go on, but all in all this place is so wonderful. I currently have a 1 year contract with my residency but am looking for permanent jobs in SLC just so I can stay at this apartment complex because I know it won't get better than this!
