Hey there! 😊 I just wanted to share with you my recent experience at AJUA Mexican Restaurant and how amazing it was! 🌮🎉 Sofia provided great costumer service! Let me tell you, the flavors of their Mexican cuisine were absolutely fantastic, and I couldn't get enough of it! 🤤 From the moment I entered, I was blown away by the beautiful and vibrant decorations that adorned the entire place. 🌵🎨 It truly added to the overall experience and made me feel like I was in Mexico itself! 🇲🇽 Every dish I tried was bursting with authentic Mexican flavors, and the variety on their menu was beyond impressive. 😋 Whether it was the sizzling fajitas, the cheesy quesadillas, or the mouthwatering tacos, each bite was filled with pure deliciousness. 🌯🌮 And let's not forget about their delectable salsa and guacamole which were the perfect accompaniments to their scrumptious dishes! Not only was the food outstanding, but the service was exceptional too. The staff at AJUA Mexican Restaurant were so friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. They were always ready to answer any questions I had and suggested dishes that suited my taste preferences. 🙌🏼 What really impressed me was the attention to detail in the restaurant's decor. The vibrant colors, traditional artwork, and beautiful Mexican motifs created a warm and inviting atmosphere. It truly felt like a mini getaway, transporting me to Mexico with every step I took inside! 🌮🌵 I highly recommend giving AJUA Mexican Restaurant a visit if you're in the mood for some delicious Mexican cuisine that will leave your taste buds dancing with joy! 🎉 Don't just take my word for it, go and experience it for yourself. You won't be disappointed! 😄 Alright, I hope this message inspires you to try out AJUA Mexican Restaurant soon! Let's plan a trip together and enjoy the amazing flavors and beautiful ambiance that this place has to offer. 🌮🌵💃🏼

This is my 2nd time coming here for Sunday brunch. To be honest, both times the restaurant was half empty, which it’s never a good sign. The service was ok, it’s buffet after all and you serve yourself, but the waitress checked on me 3 or 4 times, which it’s good. Be aware coffee, iced tea or any other drink are not included in the buffet price, which it’s $14.95 +tax per adult. Not a bad price for buffet. Here’s what I liked: pozole, despite being watery and having lots of corn, the flavor was excellent. Oh, and they only have little cups for it, no bowls at all. So if you’re lucky, you’ll get 4 pieces of meat in that little cup. Haha! If you really like pozole, you may need 2 cups of it and make sure you don’t get all corn and no meat. No diced onions or peppers to accompany it though. No oregano either. Chile relleno was really good, they only have the cheese kind, not ground beef, but they were really, really good. Chicken mole was also good, small pieces of chicken (bone-in) though but mole sauce was really good. Fried beans had good flavor. Papas con chorizo were good, but cold, ugh. Rice pudding was ok. Salsa roja, salsa verde & pico de gallo were good. Green salad was good. Did not see any salad dressing though. What I didn’t like: egg dishes were cold, same with other dishes I tried last time. Bacon strips were chewy. Carnitas were chewy and had no flavor. Barbacoa was nothing special. Tortillas are cold, it’d be much better if the waitress brought tortillas to your table, in a tortilla warmer pouch or a tortilla warmer server( tortillero), that way they’re not cold when you try making tacos with them. Mexican rice had no flavor. I didn’t try all their dishes and not sure if I’ll come back for brunch again honestly.

Had lunch here yesterday and the food was Great!!! Beth was the hostess again and Destiny was our server! Excellent customer service!! Will definitely return again and would definitely recommend. I had grilled chicken with creamy sauce on the side and Mexican rice and refried beans. Hubby had Beef enchiladas with red chile sauce, refried beans, Mexican rice and tortilla soup. We also had tortilla chips and salsa. Since I was in the area near this place, I decided to try out their food. This is a very welcoming and hospitable place. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by the lady at the register. She offered me cold water while I waited to order. She stated all the food there was authentic Mexican food and tasted good. I ordered 2 Big Shot Burritos with ground beef, Mexican cheese, refried beans, Mexican rice, guacamole, Mexican Crema, an order of Chile-Lime Fish Tacos and an order of Flan. Each Big Shot Burrito were enough food for 2 people. The Chile-Lime Fish Tacos came with cilantro rice and black beans. This is the best tasting authentic Mexican food my hubby and I have ever had. The food was well seasoned and the portions were ample and the prices were very reasonable. The Manager was very kind when I added the flan after the fact. The Waiter came out with my food and stated he double wrapped the black beans and to be careful they were placed on the side of all else in bag. He even offered to walk with me to carry out order. We have just found the best locally authentic testing Mexican food here in San Antonio, Tx. Will definitely return again and certainly recommend to others. The wait for orders was very quick. The food was excellent. Would definitely return and would definitely recommend.

3/2/24 Sat at bar. Rosa Linda was our bartender server. She was fantastic. Ordered carnita crispy tacos & they were huge & delicious. Chips n salsa was awesome too. The habanero salsa is sooo gooood. We actually took a pint home. The draft beer was very cold unlike most places in SA. The place was spotlessly clean and all the staff friendly & helpful. Nice job Ajuua!!! Cant wait to return. I wish there were photos on your website of the Sunday buffet? Wed 3/6/24 lunch Another great experience at the bar. Our waiter was Luis and he was awesome. Carnitas tacos were the best tacos I've ever eaten. Bar none. Ajuua rocks Sat 3/9/24 Another outstanding visit. Pozole was simply over the top good. Chips with house salsa and also the habanero salsa. Crispy Carnitas tacos. This place is a true gem. All the staff are on top of their games. Andres was our bartender waiter today. He was awseome. Ajuua is the best authentic mex food in San Antonio. We have eaten at so many others here in SA and nothing comes close Sun 3/17 Came to try the buffet. Wouldnt do this one again. Sat 3/29 Back again. Rosa Linda was our bartender waitress. Wife had crispy el pastore taco but not much meat on it and no pineapple flavor. We both had carnita crispy taco & they were spot on as always. The draft beer was cold as always. Rosa Linda was her usual self. Great personality. Great service. We love Rosa. Two visits since Rosa left, neither were up to par. Today Melissa waited on us and not only was she spectacular but so were the tacos. We love the crispy tacos with carnita meat. Chips were not fresh but the house & habanero salsas were awesome. Melissa is a bit shy but we managed to bring her out of that and she is a hidden gem. WE LOVE AJUUA 6/29/24 Saturday Another awesome experience. Thank you Ajuua for the wonderful crispy carnitas tacos, wonderful salsa, cold beer, Jessica our bartender. She rocks July 6,24 visit Melissa was our bartender again. She was outstanding again as was the food. Beer cold as always. Ajuua rocks and Melissa is always on her game. Cant wait until our next visit. 7/21/24 Jessica was our bartender & waitress. Today. She was outstanding as always. The crispy Carnita tacos were just fantastic. Ajuua rocks. 7/25/24 Sat at bar for lunch. Bartender Luis was great as always. The house salsa was loaded with garlic. The Carnitas tasted very.different than normal, very sweet & little to no citrus flavor. Cook not following house recipes I guess. 7/28/24 Vivi was our bartender/waitress & she was outstanding. 🥰 Vivi saved the day. We love the Carnitas at Ajuua but last two times garlic overpowered. Maybe a new cook? Ajuua rocks however so we will return. 8/8/24 Refried beans were really stron in cumin. Everything else was perfect. We love the crispy tacos, substuting carnitas for the meat. Beer always cold & service at the bar always outstanding. Today we had the pleasure of Jessicas service. Such a sweet heart that always delivers. We have never been disappointed at the bar. Melissa, Luis, Jessica, Vivi and all waiters at Ajuua are outstanding 8/23/25 been a long while since we've been here today we've got out of the box and ordered El Pastor tacos. Absolutely outstanding. Roberto still shining brightly in the kitchen Sat 8/30 12:30 pm, bartender Melissa. Food excellent, salsa too. Melissa did a fine job for us as she always...

The service alone could give it 5+ stars, but the review is also about the food too.

The salsa was flavorful and fresh! I could not stop eating it! Our waitress did not hesitate to bring us two one for me and another for my spouse. She brought us more when I finished all of mine because it was great! Hubby ordered the beef empanadas as an appetizer. I don't eat empanadas, but I tried them. The picadillo filling was excellent! The empanada crust was nice and crispy, yet did not crack all apart over your plate. The sauce it came with neither of us liked. Again, not a fan of empanadas, but if I ever ordered any, I would order these! I had the enchiladas Tres amigos. The waitress said I could change up the sauces, but I wanted to try as is as a first timer. I also appreciate you can choose your own protein for the enchiladas (which are normally either cheese or chicken). I opted for the beef fajita. The chipotle cream sauce was pretty good, seemed mostly cheesy, but the flavor was good. The chili meat sauce enchilada was good as well and again this is not an option I normally choose either, but if I had to order it, this would be it too! Then the tomatillo green enchilada...I saved this for last because it's what I typically order. It was delicious! Excellent flavor especially with that beef fajita combination which was different from any I've tried. The rice was good. I opted for charro beans which were good, but needed more flavor/salt. Eating it with the rice and some salsa they were alot better. The kiddo had the kids mini burgers and fries. He enjoyed it. Hubby had carne guisada plate with the flour tortillas and enjoyed it too. I had a bite and it was good. I do prefer brown sauce on my carne guisada. Ended the meal with the churros which were ok. The ice cream saved them. Hubby had vanilla Tres leches which he enjoyed. I did not get a taste of it to give...
