TLDR: Food was overpriced and edible(la croix of italian where italian is screamed in austin and food is made in San Antonio),wait staff amazing, host/ess amazing and restaurant is the dive bar of johny carrinos(which has better food)
OKAY FIRST ATMOSPHER! you get there you notice that the outdoor patio area while we'll illuminated I would about 1/4th of the lights are burned out the interior of the restaurant looks really nice as you walk in until you look to the right and see an entire sea of table which in my eyes looks like they are solely attempting to pack as many warm bodies with wallets as they can in such a confined space which also makes it difficult for the wait staff to actually do their jobs despite their best efforts as they are having to use their honed reflexes to keep from bowling over customers and tables alike
Second the food too keep ot short and sweet its overpriced and sucked my spouse got some sort of angel hair pasta with shrimp and some asparagus now the asparagus was cooked TO PREFECTION and had an amazing crunch and flavor as a baked asparagus should be the rest of was more bland than the entirety of Ohio amd Iowa combined into a salt is spicy dreamscape whete there was basically cooked cream and the la Croix of what was once parmesian and and maybe some garlic that was cooked in the pot 3 washes ago and get this for 35 dollars. You get all that with I wanna say a ladle of food maybe. Enough the average person would look at and say hey that wasnt nearly enough and that wasn't the sole culprit of that particular place either all the main entrees plates there ranged from 20-50 dollars which I understand if it's actually good food example: there's a Thai place off of de Zevala called baanthai Thai cuisine their special is a curry that has everything in and it is AMAZING but is 25 bucks a plate but is a large portion and is actually realllly good and has weirdly good Rangoons? Like seriously good Rangoons you'll have to try them ANYWAY I got myself myself a lobster bisque and just ate the bread (bread was OK did not have the nice crust you'd expect from an Italian place) cause it was 9 bucks to their credit! I did find some lobster pieces at the bottom of the bowl which were about thumb sized which were tasty the bisque itself once again entered into the la Croix of Italian food where some shouted parmesian loudly and repeatedly to a large pot of perfectly good Tamato soup with a cream base which while less terrible than the pasta my spouse ate could honestly be made at home with a can of Campbell's tomato soup some milk some imitation crab and bringing the parmesian dangerously close to the pot to get a wiff of what it could have been.
Three wait staff. The wait staff was amazing and was ready and patient and was genuinely good service I'm assuming with years of training as a martial artist to avoid all the tables and customers stacked into the area bravo to yall for putting up with that and stillanaging to do your job sincerely bravo.
Four reservations table was reserved for 14 people and my spouse and I were the first ones there at 3 minutes past the reservation time unknown if it was the hostess who canceled the reservation do to the party late or the manager who did but I fully understand if Noone from the party had been there past 15 minutes but 3 minutes really? Do yall care about selling your overpriced la Croix of Italian food that badly? But they were able to accommodate a large party in about 15 minutes so kudos goes out to the host/ess for getting that situation under control yall are the MVPs for working that out
All this for the low price of 55 dollars I think with a decent tip for the waiter which I regret every penny of
All in all I myself will likely never come here again and will forever think of this place as the la Croix of Italian restaurants where they are dangerously close to flavor bit for safety measure Italian is screamed at the top of someone's lungs in Austin and...
Read moreI recently dined at Aldinos at the Vineyard, and I must say, it was an absolute culinary delight. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a charming atmosphere. The decor was tastefully done, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance that immediately set the tone for a wonderful dining experience.
The food at Aldinos was simply amazing. I had the pleasure of trying the pollo Gorgonzola, and it was a flavor explosion in every bite. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy, while the Gorgonzola sauce added a rich and creamy element that elevated the dish to new heights. The combination of flavors was truly outstanding, leaving me wanting more with each mouthful.
What impressed me just as much as the food was the attentive service provided by the waiter. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional. He was always on hand to offer recommendations, answer any questions, and ensure that my needs were met throughout the evening. The level of attentiveness displayed by the staff truly added to the overall experience.
I also want to mention the cleanliness of the restrooms, as it is often a small detail that can make a big difference. The restrooms at Aldinos were spotless, indicating a commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. It's always reassuring to see attention given to even the smallest of details.
Overall, my experience at Aldinos at the Vineyard was outstanding. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, tasteful decor, and clean facilities made for a memorable and enjoyable evening. I highly recommend Aldinos to anyone looking for a restaurant that offers not only exceptional cuisine but also a warm and...
Read more"Big" Henry's Rating System: As you already recognize, I apply a 10-point rating system in (#) from 1 (worst) to 10 (best).
Now onto the Food:
Rolls (8): They were soft in the middle and slightly crispy on the outside. Dipped in the Olive Oil (10) was very good. I ate maybe a roll and it was perfect to hold us over.
Caesar Salad (8) & Dressing (9): was crispy and had that great artichoke kick.
Lobster Bisque (6.5): This wasn't too bad. Yet, we did send it back due to the consistency (texture) and lack of seasoning.
Fried Calamari (8.5) w/Marinara Sauce (9): wasn't fishy at all. They were fried lightly. They were not chewy. They were very good and worth the price.
Penne Alfredo w/Mushrooms (10): This is a dish they do not have... I asked the server if it was possible they could make me this dish and they accommodated. This was DAMN GOOD! Everything was fresh, and the mushrooms were cooked perfectly as well as seasoned just right. The pasta was cooked to perfection and that sauce was just right. It wasn't too thick or too thin. We shared this plate and were very full.
Fettuccine Alfredo (8.5): Kids Meal to-go. Everyone in the house hot it up for a snack. Left me nothing.
Margarita (8): Was small but enough for my wife to get brave.
Soda (9): was up to par.
Unsweetened Tea (9) Tastes clean and sweet with Splenda!
Atmosphere (9.5): Loved the interior as it was very warm and had that fine dining feeling.
Server (9): was very friendly and spoke broken English, yet was very accomplished.
Overall (9): We will be back. Great location!
Very satisfied, "Big"...
