I had a terrible experience. J Green boasted about being able to make their own jewelry. So I had them make 2 pave wedding bands to match my engagement ring. The second wedding band was actually the 3rd. The actual 2nd band was the ugliest thing I had ever seen. It was supposed to match my existing band and wedding ring but looked like I had grabbed every ring out of my grandmother's jewelry box and put them on the same finger. The ring didn't even look nice as a stand alone. I took it in and told them I was not happy with it. J. Green told me I could "keep" the ring "on him." However, I still had to pay top dollar for it as well as the 3rd band. Over 10 pink diamonds have fallen out of my bands. Each time I was told this was common with pave settings. However, I have never had one diamond fall out of my Gregg Ruth engagement ring that is also pave. I will say that each time a diamond fell out, they replaced it. It took about 4-6 weeks each time. Multiply that by 10 times for each occurrence and one starts to naturally become frustrated. My rings were in the shop more than they were on my finger. The last time I went in, Preston told me that my rings were not designed to be worn everyday. If that is in fact the case, they misrepresented themselves to me when they boasted they could make my wedding bands. Wedding bands are intended to be worn everyday. When I told him I had taken my rings to another jeweler to get a second opinion, he became infuriated and started to yell at me. I told him I wanted to speak his father, J. Green, because he looked to be intoxicated in some way. He threw my rings over to his Dad who in turn ignored me. I found the first sales associate and asked her to retrieve my rings as I was certain by the look in Preston's eyes that he was under the influence of something. I told her I wanted to take my business elsewhere. She scurried to retrieve them and brought along the sales manager. The sales manager was very professional and apologetic for behaviors that were not his own. After a month passed, my ring was ready once again. I now cannot wear my rings because 1) I am afraid another diamond will fall out and I care not to ever go into that store again and 2) they are not attractive. The craftsmanship is substandard and frankly I am embarrassed to wear them. So I am in the process of having them remade with another jeweler.
In summation, J. Green's craftsmanship is not up to par. They destroyed every sentiment that came with my wedding band and push band as they remade both unsuccessfully.
For the record, I would have never gone to J. Green after the first wedding band because the problems with it were many. In addition to my faulty wedding bands, my husband's wedding ring came apart at the seams. J. Green also made his band. The only reason I was dealing with them again is because my husband had been "sold" that they could make a better band. Unfortunately, I was not with him when he went back because he wanted to surprise me. And more unfortunate, it took him longer to realize that J. Green is not capable of making jewelry nor being...
Read moreI recently had a ring resized. It looked very nice and the quality of work was very nice. The ring was a little tight when I picked it up, but with this weather i thought I would give it a day or two and maybe it would fit. The sales person who helped me said if I had any problems they would make good. Well I travel a lot so I only have about 1 day a week to get things done. I headed to the store I arrived at 5:40 PM to fine the doors locked. The website and door said open until 6 PM. We could see 3 associates in the store not more than 50 feet from the door. We rang the intercom and it rang about 8 times and no response. As we were leaving one of the associates came out the side door and ask what we needed. I told him no worries we just wanted to get the ring they miss sized corrected. I also had some jewelry to be appraised and wanted to buy another ring, which we could do when we picked up the resized ring. I asked why the doors were locked and they didn’t answer the intercom. He said for security reasons they lock the doors early. He said they had an intercom. I rang it and you didn’t answer or even look towards the door. Lol. Well maybe they should wait until after closing to put their inventory away or close at 5 instead of 6. End result is that I went to another jeweler who was closing in 5 min. They said the sizing that was done was not correct. Took my ring for correct sizing and I bought another $1000 ring while there and out by 6:15. I would not recommend J Green Jewelers. Head 1/2 mile down the road and across 1604 to San Antonio Jewelry where they understand customer service. I should have went there in the...
Read moreMy wife and I always come here when we need our jewelry serviced. Their prices are reasonable for the quality of service they provide.
Recently, we stopped by on a Tuesday to have my wife's diamonds tightened on her ring, as they were starting to get loose and rattling. I believe the person helping us was Jasmine (that's what our receipt says, so I apologize if I got it wrong). She was super friendly and said they would get it fixed ASAP. Sure enough, she called me early Thursday morning to say it was ready! Less than two days! Awesome.
We just picked it up today and the ring looks SPECTACULAR. Cleaning was included with the diamond tightening and the ring seriously looks brand new again.
If you're in this area, you can absolutely trust that they will take care of you. Heck, I would even say if you're not in this area they are worth driving to because they have been so...
