We came here for lunch today (about 1145) and we're pleasantly surprised to find the place pretty quiet. The interior is beautiful and the service was great (we had Ms. Janie - very friendly and seemed to know alot about the various rolls and dishes!) We had a Gyoza appetizer, which was standard-fare. However, the sashimi/nigiri lunch plate was absolutely amazing. To preface this - we've had sushi in California and Alaska, and had, frankly, been turned off of the idea of fish by the amount of "fishiness" that was present in the dishes we'd had previously. Nevertheless, I went full-send with my order and was blown away. Salmon, tuna, shrimp, and escobar all melted in my mouth like melted caramel. The salmon had just a hint of that fish-taste, but that was the worst offender of the bunch. Everything was delectable. We're honestly now psyched to come back and just start trying various orders of fish. For dessert, we had the tempura banana cheesecake. And it tastes about how you would expect a good banana cheesecake fried in tempura to taste (which is, to say, really good!). There's also a side of macha ice cream on the side, that I thought was really good as well. To top everything off for us, there was also a military discount (which we like to return to our host/hostess as an addition to their normal tip). We will definitely be back, hope to see you here!

The service here was excellent, I got here at the start of their happy hour, though I'm not sure what that entailed. I ordered two gyoza and two rolls(the dragon and kawhi roll), as you'll see, they both looked so good I had to forego an immediate picture for a quick taste lol. The gyoza was pretty on point, it probably could have used just a little more time trying on one or two of them, but they looked so good I scooped them up as soon as they landed. Now to the rolls themselves. Having just moved back from Japan I might be slightly spoiled when it comes to sushi. With that said, this sushi was good, but not great. The rice was a bit overcooked and didn't have as much flavor as it could have. Anyone who loves sushi will tell you, if the rice isn't perfect, the sushi can't ever be amazing. That's not to say this wasn't good though. Also, being a huge fan of eel, and eel sauce, I would have loved to see a little more of both in the Dragon roll, but it definitely wasn't a bad roll. I'll definitely be coming back to this place and trying other rolls, if only because the service is just that good and to see if they can improve their rice and take their game over the top!

Will never order from this restaurant or go back again. This is what I ordered: 5 pieces of sea urchin sashimi according to doordash. The picture is what I got. Not even a single intact uni. Anyone who knows uni knows it is delicate and should be intact as much as possible. I got chopped bits in a soy sauce container. That’s $30 of uni according to the belligerent manager who refused to own up to the mistake, and instead argued back to me condescendingly. I’ve eaten uni in pretty much every sushi establishment in town and elsewhere. He said they sell by weight not piece. If that’s the case, they still need to change their DoorDash account to prevent misleading information. He was extremely rude and just told me to call DoorDash. They just lost a loyal customer. The last time I was there I dropped close to $200 on my meal. Thank God there are more sushi restaurants opening up so this pitiful excuse of an establishment will be forced to clean up their dirty practices or close up shop.

Mixed review here… I was having lunch with my two nearly teen aged kids. We ordered about 13 items on the menu which came out to about $72 before tip with their awesome specials. We ate there the previous Saturday for the first time while shopping next door. The food was great and they had 20% off. We spent over $100. The waiter informed us that M-W from 3-6 they had 50% off rolls and 20% off the menu with house specials being the exception. I had a doctor’s appointment that coming Monday so I thought it would be a good opportunity to take my kids to lunch with me and enjoy lots of sushi! My kids can eat! That Monday, our waiter was so attentive and professional. The chefs were GREAT despite how busy it was they worked hard! The food was delicious. My negative experience happened at the very end when the manager came to our table. Normally managers approach you to see how your experience has been. Not this guy. He was there the last time we ate so he knew we spent a good amount of money there and came back again.

We asked our waiter for a to go box. He went to grab a to go box for us but the manager is the one that comes over to deliver the to go box and says that next time if we don’t finish our food and we take that much home then he would charge us regular price. We never saw our waiter again. He must have been scolded too.

*The 50% discount isn’t applied to the to go orders for God knows what ridiculous reason. Instead, they want you to order every thing in the restaurant and eat it all and not take anything home because they will charge you for it. Super tacky. Reminds me of tacky cheap all you can eat timed Korean bbq places.

Anyway, this was humiliating. My kids are there listening to this manager. His tone was cold. He was very to the point. He didn’t try to check on us and then slip that info into the convo in a polite way. It was either leave the food on the table or take it but either way we walk away upset and feeling shamed and unappreciated.

Why would we ever go back now?

Great service. Great food. Great discounts but an unprofessional and impolite manager is the reason we won’t ever go back.

My advice to the manager is to use some tact when speaking to happy, repeat customers that broke one of your ridiculous rules. Maybe don’t even say anything until you see someone do it more than once. It’s not worth spoiling someone’s experience.

We spent almost $200 there in two days which include tip and this is what the manager insisted on focusing on?

So tacky.

Sorry to our waiter who did nothing wrong but try and help us out by giving us the to go boxes. He actually explained the rule earlier but was very tactful and made us aware for next time. YOU were awesome! Maybe YOU should be...

I LOVE sushishima and I have for the last 9 years I’ve been visiting but tonight put such a bad taste in my mouth I actually don’t know how to feel anymore all due to a rude waitress and a situation that could have easily been deescalated.

Our server Gaby was extremely nice and attentive at the start, we don’t get to visit often so when we do we order a LOT (occasionally more than our stomachs can handle). Unfortunately one of our rolls was missing from the order and when questioned we did inform her we still wanted it. We naturally had a long wait for such a large order but then the one missing roll took a long time to reach our table as well. Regardless we received our missing roll and were happy! We joked that our eyes were bigger than our stomachs when Gaby asked how we were doing and eventually had to call it quits. We asked for a to go box but Gaby offered to box it up which was a first for us here but still a kind offer. I wish I hadn’t taken her up on it…

When we got the bill our missing roll was marked at full price and we asked why as we had ordered it during happy hour. She informed us that we had NOT and ordered it after? Likely when she entered the missing roll.. we informed her we had in fact ordered it but she missed it, messing up the order and had gotten it wrong. But instead of providing a polite reason or even an excuse she immediately said she was NOT wrong causing tensions to rise.

By the end of our service we were handed the final bill from another employee and inside was a incredibly rude and frankly judgmental hand written note shaming us for having so many left overs and not wanting to pay an extra $8 for a full price roll that was meant to be half off when the discount only applies to “dine-in” which we clearly were doing…? all around what started as a good experience easily became my absolute worst and I’ve never had a rude server here despite...

I am so upset that I even post this but i don’t want anyone else to be blindsided by this horrible establishment! I went to this restaurant and it was a slow day evening cause there was only about 3 tables being served. Kristina was my waitress and once it was time for the bill, I left a tip and signed off. The next day I received an alert on from my bank showing I had been charged TWICE from this establishment. There was the correct charge which was $56 and then there was an additional $90.01 charge. I called the establishment and asked to speak with a manager. When Victor got on the line I told him I was charged twice and wanted to know what was going on. Victor proceeded to tell me I might have been charged twice for by ACCIDENT. I asked how It was possible to be charged twice for two different amounts and it was not busy at all ( I mean seriously they were all hanging around). He then asked me for some information and I gave it to him, he stated he only saw one charge which was the correct amount, I asked how did this other charge get on my card? He then said “ it was probably a charge from another table” like what? I became agitated because he acted like “no harm, no foul”! I then pointed out that there was no accountability. He said that once batch runs “it should fall off”! Victor is a horrible manager with no accountability and no value for customers! Please if you go there be sure to check your account! Smells like FRAUD to me!...
