Alamo City Chocolate Factory — Restaurant in San Antonio

I visited this store based on the positive reviews. However I had an uncomfortable experience. I arrived and did not have any sales clerk. I stood there for more than 5 minutes and even though I said hello, no one came to talk to me. I felt that no one wanted to take my order. After that, a lady came and tried to help me with my order. When I said I wanted the silver box, she told me "No, you don't want this one because this one costs $42, you want this one that costs $24. Since, that in Brazilian culture we do not like to argue, so I said ok and tried to be nice, even though I was uncomfortable. I think costumers should be able to choose what they want to buy without people assuming they cannot afford something based on how they look. I have spent a lot of euros on Neuhaus chocolate, so really I would have paid $42. I remember a story that a heard once in church. A sir went to a car dealer, he was wearing, a cowboy hat, flip flops and cargo shorts. He stood there for a hot minute, because no one wanted to go and talk to him. The car agents even talked to each other trying to decide who would go see what that poor person wanted. After long wait someone came and he bought 14 trucks, he was a rich farmer who needed trucks for his farm. I hope this review helps other costumers who felt uncomfortable in the same way I did. Took my mom to the Chocolate Factory as a surprise for early Mother’s Day celebration as the ending of a full day of surprises. It was our first time there. As soon as you walk in, you are hit by the smell of chocolate. It smelled wonderful. It was a beautiful shop. Wonderful displays of chocolate treats. The owner was really nice. Offered the beautiful displays of chocolate heart boxes as a gift option, which I did decide on for my mom. Was even told that the box will also have an assortment of truffles inside, which my mom was really excited about. I even got a few chocolate treats for myself😊. I really liked that the owner offered us samples to try as well, which tasted awesome by the way. I was thrilled to have Alamo City Chocolate Factory chocolates as the centerpiece to each place setting at our sons rehearsal dinner. My vision was for it to be the sussy for each person attending to take home, enjoyed and talked about. I am extremely disappointed when I picked them up to find the wrong box used and the Alamo printed on one of the chocolates. I asked for the hearts to be put on them (something more weddingish). I paid a lot of money for a big disappointment. Even more so, they did not try to work with me to rectify the mistakes.
