I ordered two of the Chicken tender plates to go so that I could take my husband lunch during his 30 minute lunch break on the other side of town. My bill came to almost $30 which is what you can expect to pay for good food. Key word being “good”. It took longer than normal and I overheard them saying that only one fry basket was working or something of that sort. So I waited and it took about 28-30 minutes so I had to grab the food and run to the other side of town in 15 minutes which was fine because I made it in time. I opened mine and was immediately disappointed because everything was completely saturated in grease, it looked unappetizing, and they had set the ranch on top of the hot fries which curdled the ranch and popped the lid off of the ranch container. My husband opened his and picked up a strip which the chicken slid completely out of the breading. The breading on the strips was soggy in some spots and a “gummy” texture in others. The breading was a really dark brown which made them look like they had been over cooked. I called and spoke with the manager (which I believe just so happened to be the one that cooked all this), and she said that I can bring them back and she would make more otherwise there’s nothing else she can do. I even explained to her how it would be impossible for me to bring them all the back and wait for them to make more and then come all the way back in under 30 minutes before my husband had to get back to work. There was no apology or any attempt to keep customers coming back. Since that was pointless, a waste of $30 for inedible food, and short on time before lunch breaks was over, the only thing that was even decent was the Texas Toast which I, of course, paid extra for. So we ate our Texas toast, maybe a couple of the grease drenched fries and had to toss the rest so my husband could get back to work. Trying to not let it ruin the rest of our day, but that was sad and disappointing and I’m 100% positive we won’t be...
Read moreWhere do I begin with this place. Came here on a Sunday night around 7pm and while it was a bit busy it wasn't packed by any means. The young girl at the front counter taking our order was about the only saving grace there that night. She was fast, friendly, polite, and helpful! Unfortunately that was about the only good experience of that night. I have been going to Babe's since they opened up over 20 years ago on Fredericksburg Rd. This was my first and probably only time visiting this particular location. The tables needed to be cleaned, and the floors swept. We sat near the grill area and what I saw as I ate my food almost made me wish I had seen it earlier. I saw the staff take tea grounds and tap them out on the inside of the trash can, and I also saw the kid cooking the burgers use his hand to help guide the meat into the spatula as he removed it from the grill. Now normally, I wouldn't have had an issue with that if, I had not just seen him remove order tickets with his ungloved hand that were sent back to the grill. Touched by the person taking the order who had just wiped sweat off her face. He also used his arm and back of hand to wipe sweat off his face as well. The woman who was ringing people up and sending back the orders was a bit on the rude side as well, not sure if she was the manager or not but it did not make for a very good impression to say the least. If you are in the area I would spend my money at Five Guy's or Burger Boy before eating here again. You could also be better off going to Wendy's, McDonald's, or Sonic that are...
Read moreAfter going to this restraunt for the few years they have been open it is a rare occasion you are ever greeted with a smile or even an acknowledgment that you have arrived. It allways seems like you are a burden when you walk in the door. If you order a burger be prepared for the bottom bun to be the consistency of wet toilet paper from the grease that floods from the patty and wet lettuce they put on the bottom bun. They charge .50 for a side of ranch in a small ramican that you are lucky if it is half full. Our last order the onion rings were either burned or undercooked (yes, in the same container, half were almost raw, soggy and the other half were burned and extremely hard). Living around the corner from them we visit more than we should, but we thought after this covid thing we would visit a local business in hopes things were better, but we were met with disappointment again. The children's burger were half the size they used to be, the order taker was rude and even scolded me when I read my order back going yeah yeah I got it. Walking in the door we waited 3 minutes to even be acknowledged, and we were the only ones in the store. Customer service is gone now a days, and this location is a shining example how not to treat your customers. There is no pride in what they do, like cutting chicken for a chicken salad in bite size pieces so you dont have pick it out and cut it yourself. Also, common sense says if you order a salad, dont put it in between 2 hot items so it is a hot soggy mess by the time...
