Limited drink choices and shady bar practice by night bartender.
*Warning long rambling post ahead do not attempt unless you have time to read everything.
To start with they did not have any food choices at least on Tuesday nights. As for drinks I realize that a lot of bars do not want to make a complex mix drink at night when they are busy but this place was dead when I was there. Being reasonable I first asked if they had Michelada mix and the bartender said no. Ok, first bar I have been to in San Antonio that did not have Michelada mix but - ok. So then I said let me get a Bloody Mary. The guy gave me a weird look and said āI said we donāt have the mixā. Dude please tell me you know the difference between Michelada mix and Bloody Mary mix. I realize they both have tomato juice as a main ingredient but come on now you are a bartender! Anyways, then I said let me get a Black Velvet until I realized they did not have cider on tap and would be charging me for two separate drinks. So then I just settled for some cheap beer that they had a lot of.
After drinking the beer I went to pay my tab and the guy states you need a minimum of $10 to use your card. Come on man it is 2018 who carries cash. I could pay you with bitcoin if you wanted an alternative to card but that was a laughable thought. He never said at the beginning I needed a minimum of $10 to use my card or I would have never of got my 4th choice beverage. No big deal I said ok let me get my friends drinks as well that way I would have over $10. He said nope already been adding her drinks throughout the night to her card. What really man you charged her card each time she ordered a drink or do you do like most places and close out the tab at the end placing the final charge then. To make the $10 minimum charge he offered to up-charge me for a water making it $5 so I would hit the $10. No thanks to getting ripped off so I asked for the strongest beverage I could get for the $5 and he gave me some old strawberry hot drink. I took it ā laughed - paid my bill and started to walk off until he told me friend she only needed $5 for her to close out her tab. As you can tell from my long post I am not happy and will not be returning.
You guys need to get your stuff together or you will be like the last place that hung their sign at that address and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMan, Iām typically big on black-owned businesses so Iām sad to have to give a bad review. Went here on a Sunday with a few friends. It was my first time visiting this place. I donāt go out often so I was looking forward to it. The bartenders Anthony and Ashley were great, they made some great drinks as well.
The owner, who did not introduce himself, very aggressively approached my friends and I telling us not to sit in the opposite direction of the bar because our feet were resting on a bench. He did not like how we were sitting. We tried to move the bench a bit so that there would not be an issue. He came back, yelling at us telling us to face the bar instead.
Iāve never had any altercations in my life, ever, as I am not a confrontational person. So to be treated that way, especially by a person who I later found out was the owner was very disheartening.
While yelling at us, three WOMEN who were still sitting and not being confrontational, The owner grabbed his security and another large gentleman. THREE large men, after I tried to calmly tell him not to yell and explain to him what was happening. He did not let me speak at all.
I did not even want to speak anymore due to the aggressive demeanor of all three of these men.
Iāve NEVER had an experience like that before.
Please, if you are going to run an establishment, work on your communication skills. Iām sure there is a lot of riff raff that visits this place based on the location, but some of your patrons are just WOMEN who do not get out much looking to hear some good music and have a great time.
Very unfortunate. I still paid...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came front out of town for a family event and we decided to go to Bentleys we where meet at the door with a security guard by the name of Towns. As we are getting our ids checked Towns stated yeah I need to check your bag due to a woman the prior night bringing a gun in as I was opening my purse before being asked.
