NEW OWNERS/VETERANS OWNED! Went here for a fun hangout with girlfriends after lunch and we all loved what we ordered! Their menu is not just your typical boba flavors you find at other places, but I'd say it's unique to Boss Tea (or maybe this location in particular?!). We had Tiramisu Matcha, Tiramisu Coffee Latte & Mocha Vietnamese Coffee with pearls and not only did they look aestheically pleasing, but since you can customize each drink to your liking they were extra delicious! The ambience and minimalistic but classy furnitures made it a very inviting place to hang out with family or/and friends. They also had board games and lounging seat cushions available to use. The owners happened to pop in while we were there and they are super nice. We even snagged a free sample of a hopefully new addition to their menu 🤞🏻and they're also working on adding food items soon! All in all, we were impressed with everything, especially their boba drinks of course! I definitely recommend you try this place out for yourself, and it's close by UTSA; so that's a bonus, right? Oh, one more thing - their cups are reusable, so we kept ours isn't that neat! And definitely love the lid it's so functional.

I unfortunately feel the need to edit my review— since new owners took over, a lot has changed. Some good, some not so. The good: drink quality, boba, and variety of drinks/dessert is pretty consistent The not so good: sooo expensive now. I used to go here at least once a week for a couple years since they first opened bc the service, drinks & prices were amazing. I used to recommend this shop to literally everyone I knew in the area. Now they’ve become more expensive than any other boba shop in the area (up to $9 a cup after taxes for a basic milk tea and boba). I honestly wouldn’t mind paying more if everything’s good but the service here has gotten progressively worse. Used to be greeted with smiles and happy employees. Now when I come in, which is pretty infrequent, the girl(s) taking orders act bored or like they don’t want to be there, never smile and act inconvenienced if I ask about a drink or special/promo. It’s just not the same great atmosphere it once was and I hope the owner can address this with the staff

Don’t waste your time visiting this place. Very misleading to have coffee on their sign as one of the four words when they only have one type of coffee out of the whole menu. The worker had attitude and wasn’t willing to make a different drink or add anything in case I didn’t like it??? I have tried drinks at other places. If I don’t like it, I just don’t order it again and would try something different. Don’t assume that we don’t know what we like. This is not our first visit to a coffee or boba shop. He also badmouthed his co-workers by saying they don’t try different customer requests because the other workers couldn’t understand complex things. The lighting in there is also weird, like either turn the lights on or dim them but in between it is not a good look. However, if you love Pokemon, go give them a visit, it will be your cup of tea! (Pun Intended!) Also, they did have many non-caffeinated options and also many non-dairy options, so they do have some potential to be a great place.

I loved this place when it was Boss Tea, but since the change in ownership, I’ve gone twice and both times have been very disappointed. Neither of the times I’ve gone in have the cashiers/baristas been able to answer any questions I had regarding the menu, the teas themselves don’t really taste that good, and they aren’t very transparent with what is actually going into the drink? When I asked what drinks could be made with less sugar no one seemed to know/have a straight answer. I ended up just getting a Thai tea and it didn’t taste anything like a Thai tea.

There also seems to be a lack of training… my boyfriend ordered a drink and requested zero sugar.. to which they put whipped cream and sprinkles on the top. I’ve never been to a boba place that puts whipped cream and sprinkles on any drink??

The environment feels undecorated, and it doesn’t even look like there was any attempt to make the place look presentable for the soft opening. There was no music play so it was just loud and chaotic with people’s voices. The cups were extremely flimsy and felt low quality, which was very disappointing considering the boss tea cups were phenomenal… how feasible would it be to order cups from the same supplier?

Despite the cheaper cup and the blander taste, prices have somehow gone up. A Thai tea is somehow $6 and to add boba it’s $1. After taxes, two drinks came out to about $16.50 which is pretty crazy for two drinks.

Maybe I’ll try again later down the line, but as of right now it is not somewhere I want...

I wish Boss Tea had never sold because before they changed ownership and rebranded, the expierence was consistently amazing. In fact, they were my favorite boba location of all time. Not anymore - BesTea just isn’t good.

Since then, you have employees who get hair in your drinks and make the ordering expierence confusing. They replaced the drink of course, but that’s the bare minimum. When they replaced it, they also got the order wrong. Why didn’t they read off the original receipt to make it instead of doing it wrong for the second time? I left still wanting a refund after the drinks were made again because it STILL was not what I paid for.

Going here isn’t worth the anxiety of constantly having to correct them on how to make a basic standard drink, and having to get drinks re-made multiple times. The menu is not the same and is lacking. Flavor isn’t as good as it used to be, and they don’t even have a “black milk tea” menu item. They were confused on how to simply take black tea, and milk… and make a drink. The store also feels chaotic and loud now. Not a great place to relax and sip tea.

The quality of the cups have also decreased. They are cheaper. Boss Tea previously had nice thick, reusable plastic with re-closable lids. They still have the re-sealable lids but they are now more flimsy. The cost of boba here has increased substantially as well, and it isn’t affordable like it once was. $18 for two drinks.

Just go somewhere else because this isn’t the Boss Tea you...
