China Bistro — Restaurant in San Antonio

My husband stopped here to try this restaurant for the very first time of us living her 11 years in the surrounding area. The young cashier treated him with unwelcoming vibes as if he wasn’t allowed to be there. So my husband being patient waiting on his order leaves once his food comes out. He gets home to eat with his family only to find his order of wings we’re cooked throughly to the point where blood was present. If we took pictures of this unpleasant scene and called the restaurant back to complain about his experience. While speaking to the young cashier over the phone about trying to speak with a manager she proceeded to say there was no manager. So I asked her what her name was Repeatedly and she didn’t want to give me her name and continued to be disrespectful over the phone. Mind you were only trying to report a complaint and try to come to a resolution regarding the situation. So I realized we weren’t getting no where over the phone so I said ok well we will be coming to discuss this matter in person we were furious and so word exchange over the phone was distasteful only because it didn’t have to be like this the young cashier insisted on providing me her name like we did something wrong. So we get to the restaurant and I demanded the young cashiers name. She ended up telling me and so I brought the food back along with the bloody chicken wings and demanded a full refund. Also expressed that her customer service skills aren’t it when handling customers and that she needed to do better. Also wanted to speak with the cook who prepped my order however, the young cashier said he doesn’t speak English mind you when I asked her why she was so reluctant to provide her name she said she thought I was telemarketing call because of my area code when she got workers in the back who can’t speak English but she’s worried about a customer who sounded nothing like telemarketing but in fact upset covered up and made excuses why she felt otherwise. We will never return and it’s SAD because this was my husband’s first time ever. I will be reporting them to the news. And I hope this picture alert their loyal customers to go elsewhere because no restaurant such as this one deserve to be in business when you have workers that displayed terrible customer service, unpleasant experience, uncooked food that could really make people sick especially bloody chicken which can cause Salmonella extremely bad stomach bacteria which can lead to death. China Bistro has been a quick and easy place for me to grab dinner when I haven’t felt like cooking, so imagine how excited I was to see that they are now open for breakfast! From 6-11 daily, they offer their Chinese breakfast and let me tell you - it is DELICIOUS! I went two mornings in a row because there was just so much I wanted to try. Morning 1: Pork Changfen and Pork Bao. Wow! The Changfen was very clean tasting, and by that I mean very minimal seasoning so the natural flavors shone through. The bao were huge, fresh, and the filling is savory and perfect for breakfast. Morning 2: Beef noodle soup and pan fried dumplings. The previous days breakfast was fresh on my mind but I decided to try something new and neither dish disappoints. The soup is seasoned to perfection and the beef is tender and nearly a melt-in-your-mouth experience. The dumplings are crispy and have an amazing filling just like the bao. There is an option to get the dumplings steamed but I chose pan fried to complement the soup I was going to have.

Ever since I moved to Texas 4 years ago, I've been searching far and wide across the city for a good Chinese spot. I've tried easily over 30 different spots but none even come close to China Bristo. I placed a pickup order today and within 15 minutes it was ready. When I went in to pick it up, the lady at the counter made me feel very comfortable, some would say "at home". She suggested I have a seat while she finished boxing my food. Every single thing I ordered was an absolute delight. The dumplings 10/10, the crab ragoons to DIE for.
