BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse — Restaurant in San Antonio

My husband and I stopped in to have lite bites and drinks. THE WORST SERVICE EVER BY JOSH!!! There was maybe one other couple at the bar so he wasn’t busy. It took us awhile to even get waited on. He was clearly in charge and was working with a young gal who just did whatever he was rudely ordering her to do. We noticed she was filling up the Watermelon for drinks as he told her to do. Right in front of us she scoops out the Watermelon from a container with her bare hands! YUCK! And places them in the smaller container to use in drinks. It was so gross! She did not use gloves or even use a spoon to scoop the chunks out. Josh back was turned to her and we immediately let him know. He turned around and saw her. YOU COULD TELL HE WAS NOT HAPPY WITH US for telling him. He did not have her change it out. He left it there sitting, waiting for other bar tenders to use it. And we needed another drink. He ignored us BIGTIME! And so did she! Josh was literally filling all the drink orders right in front of us and would not acknowledge us or make eye contact!! We waited and waited with two empty glasses! It was clear by his unprofessionalism and poor customer service he was not going to serve us!! We were sitting there waiting and waiting. Finally I said to him “If anyone cares, we would like another drink.” And then my husband told him “better yet , let me speak to your Manager.” He could care less with his smirk as he walked away. A mgr named Rosanne or Roxanne came to us and we explained what happened. Of course she apologized and told us “I could move you two to a booth”. What ??? We have to move to get service??? My husband told her “ absolutely unacceptable response. We came to sit at the bar and have a few drinks and you’re telling us that if we want to have another drink that we have to move our seat??”. And then her response to the bare hands grabbing the crushed watermelon she said “ well they wash their hands quite often.” We couldn’t believe her response to resolving our complaint. We quietly got up and walked out !! How about use gloves or a utensil to grab it ?!! We were so excited once this opened up on the South side because we would always go to the one in Stone Oak but we will never come to this location again and tell all our friends and family how terrible and disgusting the service was from Josh and how gross their cleanliness habits are! Josh needs some serious coaching and training! And needs to get over himself the way he was barking orders at the gal. We did not feel welcomed or...

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Took my son to celebrate his birthday with family, group of 10 total. Also would like to note that it was not a busy time of night and I made reservations in advance, the restaurant was very much close to empty besides the bar. The service was on the low end of satisfaction, took forever to get drinks but it was fine at first no big deal, we understood the bar was backed up. then we ordered our food. Waited about an hour and a half for our food to come out while still struggling to get drinks served in that time, food finally came out and this is where it gets horrible. We get 8/10 plates served, 3/8 were wrong, my asparagus was so hard and dry the knife wouldn’t even cut it, it would just chip off into pieces. I did not eat it. The steak was cooked perfectly though I’ll give them credit where credit is due. But also cold. Loaded potato had a small amount of cheese and bacon on it only. Nothing loaded about it, dry, no butter, no chives, no sour cream, and it was cold. My sister in law had the same problem. Then one of the plates was CHICKEN Alfredo, but when the plate was served there was no chicken in the bowl…. Just noodles and sauce.. my husband and mother in law both still waiting on their food while the whole table was served already, 10 minutes goes by someone finally walked past us so we could ask them where the plates were, they claim they haven't started the plates yet, WOW. Finally started their plates, another 15 minutes goes by the manager comes to our table, not very assertive or confident in his position at all. The waiters and the cook all need to be trained in quality control. I will add that they replaced the chicken Alfredo with a whole new bow and did credit the original Alfredo and the new bowl, along with my husbands plate and my mother in laws plate. But at the end of it, paying a 360 dollar bill with such horrible service and experience just isn’t worth it and I can promise you myself nor the rest of my family will ever be back. Needs new management for sure, the current is not doing a good job at guiding his team. 2/10, the 2 points are because the steak was cooked good and the drinks the bartender made...

Save your money, imo. It was the first time ever eating here, and I was excited for the southeast side to finally be getting what we thought would be better restaurant options. Sadly disappointed. I went with 1 teen and 2 young adults during the week midday. We got seated off to the back away from everyone else in the restaurant, which made the server take a while to get us started. I think they'd forgotten about us there for a second, but no biggie. We got our drink orders in and placed our order. We ordered the chicken parm lunch special, which is a half serving, the brisket nachos, salmon plate, and a bacon cheese burger. Our food took a while to come out, and once we'd gotten it, the majority of it was already getting cold. My chicken parm was flat-out cold. The salmon was way over cooked and dry, and the rice and broccoli it was served with had 0 seasoning or flavor, zero! The only semi saving grace of the meal was my son's burger, which he said was good, but the fries were cold. The nachos were the main thing we all ended up picking on but to call them brisket nachos was an over reach seeing the miniscule amount of meat on it and the obscene amount of sour cream that was thrown on top took away from that dish as well. Our servers were nice and checked on us a few times. The atmosphere was fun and inviting too, and while I didn't partake, there seemed to be a good selection of adult bevy options as well. The prices are ridiculous, especially for what we got across the board IMO seeing as we had the ability to review the menu well. All of my party agreed across the board we wouldn't plan to return. I'm glad we got to try it out, but the food just wasn't well cooked at all. ( In all fainess, we didn't tell staff or give them an opportunity to fix anything. I was a waitress in my earlier years, and I'd now never send food back while expecting a new dish, just my personal opinion, not accusing them of...
