This James Avery Artisan Jewelry store is located in southeast San Antonio off I-37 and near Walmart and Best Buy. Sometimes this location is called Brooks City Base, although I'm not sure Brooks Airforce Base ever extended that far eastward. However, it will be moving to a new location on June 1, 2023 at Brooks Corner Shopping Center next to Ross and not far from Target.
Until the move, this Avery Johnson is a little smaller than the one at the Quarry, but the service is just as friendly and helpful. In fact, if the Quarry is out of an item, I found the southeast San Antonio location just might have it because of a wee smaller sales volume.
This was true last weekend when I was shopping for a silver necklace for my wife for Valentines Day. 💝 The Quarry had fobs but was out of a 30" necklace. The sales associate cheerfully called around until she found the necklace at the Brooks City Base location. Because of her effort, I bought three fobs at the Quarry before purchasing the necklace at City Base. The James Avery franchises truly work as a team.
Also, just a few years ago, I learned James Avery Artisan Jewelry stores offer a 10% military discount with proper identification. I could have saved a lot of money over many years! But the discount is certainly...
Read moreI usually use this location because it’s closest to my house but today I went in to get a new charm put on my bracelet and turn in my daughters bracelets and necklace to be cleaned and this customer service lady that was handling my jewelry kept asking the girl next to her if certain charms on my and daughters bracelets were real while she kept giggling like it was funny and all the while she was shaking her bracelet that had a ton of charms on it. I don’t know what her deal was trying to embarrass me cause every time she asked If one of the charms was real, people would look over at me. I was thinking how do u work here and not know if the ja charms are real? Didn’t seem to bright to me, made herself look bad. she clearly thought that she was better than the customer and certainly shouldn’t be working customer service acting the way she was. her name something like alyiana. I’ve been using this location since it opened for myself, daughters and family members for purchasing, cleaning, and getting charms put on. This was the first time I’ve gotten treated like this and hopefully the last because I have to go back tomorrow to pick...
Read moreOn July 30, 2024, I dropped off a necklace, along with other pieces of jewelry, to be cleaned. When I went back to pick up my jewelry, the necklace they gave me was not the one I dropped off. I immediately informed the manager. After going home, I returned the next day with pictures of the necklace I had dropped off. The manager looked at my pictures and agreed with me that they had given me the wrong necklace, but they did not know where mine was. He offered to let me keep the necklace and give me $100 to make it right, but I declined. I insisted on getting my own necklace back and asked for the District manager's contact information. The manager assured me he would inform the District manager and that they would contact me on August 5, but I did not receive any call from them. My necklace has very strong sentimental value, and I just want it back. I need to know what I have to do to make a claim and get my original necklace back. I am considering filing a police report just to have it on file. I have pictures of my original necklace and the one they gave me, and it's clear they are...
