On April 10, 2018, I preordered two Rick & Morty pops. On April 20th, I received a call to pick up Mad Max Rick and I picked it up that day. They told me the Pickle Rick Pop would not come in til early June. I'm a frequent visitor to this location. I inquired a few times in May and they said the pop hasn't been released yet.
Come June 12th, Tuesday, I received (and missed) the Gamestop phone call. However, they left NO voicemail. All you can hear is background noise, like a pocket dial. I assumed my preordered finally came in. Due to my work schedule, I wasn't able to pick up until that Friday, June 15th.
I show up and had to wait 10 minutes because they were rebooting the computers/registers. Fine. Come to find out, these incompetent employees PUT MY PREORDER ON THE FLOOR to be bought by other customers! They said the Pop came in and had been sitting in the back for over a month. I told them I just received the call 3 days ago, how has it been sitting back there for a month? Plus, I had been coming in (throughout the month of May) to shop and when I asked about Pickle Rick, the answer was the same, it had not come in yet.
I told them AGAIN, I got a call 3 days ago with NO voicemail AND I had the (background noise) voicemail to prove it! The employee then began to imply that I was lying by say, "We always leave a message. My manager made the calls. That doesn't sound like something we would do. Most people don't have a voicemail box set up or their inbox is full. Leaving no voicemail doesn't sound like something we would do."
This is HIGHLY insulting. First of all, I am a frequent customer giving them, this location, business. Second, over the past years I have purchased FIVE gaming systems, accessories, and games from them. Hundreds of my dollars have gone into their store to pay their bills, just for them to put my order on the floor and call me a liar.
Someone is lying alright. If my Pop came in over a month ago like they said, someone messed up and never made the calls like they should have AND purposely lied to me everytime I came in to ask about it. I think they held and sold my Pop to a friend or another employee. I have always had a good experience at this location until June 15, 2018. I will NOT preordered from Brooks Corner Gamestop again. Definitely going somewhere else where they don't call...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIdk how many of those reviews are legitimate. I also don't know if this location has improved but I contacted the HQ about two issues in the past atleast twice or more with not response. The franchise itself has had a lot of complaints in several of its practices.
Personally, I was given the wrong game and refused a refund or exchange for a hdd I purchased at another time--despite being within the 30days. The cashier simply denied and ignored me, when I was a kid at the time, without valid reason.
They also had all but one abysmal employee at the time--some that I knew better later, which had no understanding of games or systems but simply list of things I cannot say, but none are very nice or lead me to believe I should place any faith in the store for other reasons why they chhose to hire some of their past employees
Regardless. Look it up: several people are having issues with gamestop in general (deceptive trade, etc) and Ive yet to be responded to after however many attempts to resolve basic complaints. I also never received a subscription of game informers that were supposed to be part of my rewards card purchase.
If this place knew how to do anything... hey. Theyd know how to keep customers and...

I have reported it to Gamestop, who admit that their employees have access to change account information, but would never do that without asking to see identification. Unfortunately they employ someone willing to break the rules because they changed my account name and phone number back to Jeffry Huseman as recently as 11/5/2018.
