CAVA — Restaurant in San Antonio

I will preface this with: I love cava. I’m obsessed with the food, and the pita chips. I love coming here for a quick lunch. I make a 20 minute drive just to come here. But every single time I’m here the staff drive me insane. I have never seen a quick service bar ala chipotle style take SO LONG. The line is always backed out the door and the staff is the most lackadaisical people. They are constantly talking to each other and laughing and joking (which is fine I love that for them!) but when it gets to the point it’s slowing the line down or impeding work that is just plain bad service. Often the staff will ask a customer what they want and then before they can speak turn around and start a conversation cackling and laughing with other staff. It is so unprofessional. I went today and once I finally got to the counter I was continuously interrupted by staff chit chatting, and once I got to the cashier it took three times for him to ring my order up right. It was apparently hilarious to him and the girl working the toppings bar. They were out of pita chips which I didn’t mind waiting for. The lady behind me waited as well and we ended up standing there by the counter. We were assured it would only take a second, and after way too many minutes of sitting there we both walked to the counter in frustration and asked for them again. They had been sitting there the entire time but again, the staff was goofing around. If this was a one off incident, whatever I get there are days like that! But I come here a lot and it’s like this every time with the same members of staff. It’s so annoying when you are crunched for time or have somewhere to be. Maybe driving to the Rim is...

I absolutely do not like giving such a low rating for cava...I got hooked on cava when a friend told me about it in austin. The austin location i went to was great. Food was good, the atmosphere had a good vibe...buuuutttt this sa location left me extremely disappointed. My wife and I got there at 910 pm and they close at 1030 pm. So this may have had something to.do with the bad experience. When we entered the vibe was not at all the same..it was like we entered a cemetery. We ordered the bowls and asked for the white rice (the atx location had a lot more items in their rice), the guy put half a spoonful of rice in the bowls and patted it down to cover the bottom of the bowl. (Once again im thinking because they were going to close in a hour and half and didnt want to make more). There was hardly any rice in the bowl. One bowl I asked for a little bit of spinach and he packed in the spinach. They were rushing us too, like what do want what next and it didn't give me anytime to look over the different food. I like to mix it up everything. The servings of the meat were sparse as were the ingredients. ( seems like a common theme was going) Then we get to the end and we don't get asked if we want to dine in or to go they gave us a to go bag immediately and said have a nice night. We ended up sitting outside on the patio because we wanted to eat there. And honestly eating inside...

First time here and was looking forward to it. I ordered the falafel and when it was passed on to the next phase of serving no one was there. When I turned my head there was a young woman putting all the rest of the items on my falafel but I mentioned that I was going to request no pickles. She stared at my falafel and back at me as if annoyed and confused. Fortunately my friend wanted my pickles. Never asked if I wanted something else. Awkward intereaction.

Really liked the food B U T because there wasn't enough help they never came and cleaned our tables before we sat down as kindly requested. Couldn't find enough clean tables to accommodate 7 of us (three children)... after spending $82.

We knocked over a beverage and requested help but ended up using a wad of tissues on the table. Noone ever came to clean the table or the puddle by our feet. 😒

When you walk into the restroom, the first thing you see are nasty dirty stains under the rim of the toilet bowl. Put a bad taste in my mouth.

The faucet of the bathroom sink was filthy! Serious pet peave to look at a dirty faucet while washing my hands. Don't know if I'll ever dine...
