Response to the Reply: It sounds like you don't believe there were blueberries in the cake. I do have a question: Did you make the cake yourself? Another question: Did you stay there observing our cake from the moment it was started until the very moment that it was finished? I do not have pictures personally, but I will check and see if anyone else who was at the party did. I guess I was too busy running everything and arranging things and got no pictures of that... Give me a call (you all have my number) and I can give you the name of all the members at the party, they will tell you there were blueberries in the cake. I did not want to say anything at first, but every day that I think about the amount of money that was spent I cannot help but to be upset all over again. Plus the fact that the birthday lady was not satisfied and neither am I.
I understand that prices go up...That is not the the most frustrating part. The fact that before prices went up and the price was lower...I actually got a better cake than this time is what is disappointing Also, the fact that the price did go up (this time) and my mom was not happy with her cake (this time) is what upsets me.
We tried to keep the cake hidden but cold so that the birthday lady would not see it... That was my fault for not thoroughly checking the outside of the cake, or remembering to add the words while ordering. What bothers me is that before the price went up, the lady who took our order last time automatically knew to reach out to us about those things when they were not mentioned and I sent a sketch the last time too. In other words we paid more but didn't get that same proactive customer service as last time.
I am not saying that things do not happen sometimes (I know that they do). I am not saying that the cake did not look presentable in any way (because it did). I am not saying that the cake was not anything whatsoever like what I asked for (because it somewhat was). What I am saying is that: There were blueberries in our top tier of the cake, We paid more for a smaller cake in order to have fondant that was too thick and not very pleasing to eat. I am saying that noone caught that the cake had no words on it or even reached out to ask about it (which was totally my fault but would have helped if a worker was more conscientious/observant about those things). Very disappointed in...
Read moreWORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!! If your thinking about ordering a cake from THE CAKE SHOP, DONT!!! I ordered a cake for my parents 30th wedding anniversary and it was crooked and not exactly what I ordered. The employee put on the order form what time we wanted it delivered, so my brother and I could both be there to see it beforehand to make sure it was right and what we wanted (beings that we had to pay for it when we placed the order). It was delivered before the specified time on the order form so I was not able to see it when it was dropped off. I called to talk to the manager/owner and it took him 3 days to call me back after calling and leaving several messages with my name and number. When he finally called me back he blamed the restaurant, he said it was perfect when it left the shop. I asked if he had a picture to show and prove to me that it was perfect and his reply was "no". He said they dont give refunds and there is nothing he can do. He kept talking over me and then proceeded to yell at me and call me a liar and then HUNG up on me!!! I would never have expected that a OWNER of a business would talk to anyone that way and provide that kind of customer service. He owns both shops in San Antonio, I-10 in the Colonande and Stone Oak. They already have complaints with the Better Business Bureau and soon to have another one. The more research I do, I'm finding they have many customers that have had the same...
Read moreI bought a cake for my son who graduated from high school this Friday. I was shocked that after we gave them instructions, they still put VHMS instead of VMHS. This was a high school not a middle school. It was embarrassing not being able to return the cake back to the shop anymore due to lack of time. The name we gave them was Veterans Memorial High. We also told them to add Evan Rey, my son’s name, & they also forgot. My daughter picked up the cake, but there was no excuse. They had written instructions on the order sheet when I ordered it, so my daughter was only supposed to pick it up for me without my teen needing to verify anything because that’s why I went days earlier to order it accordingly. In addition, the actual bread tasted so old. We all agreed the bread was not edible as it was hard to bite and had an awful bland taste to it. I have heard cakes taste better if they are one day old, but this cake was definitely baked wrong or too old. The sugar coating we tried was neutral, but the one this cake had seemed excessively sweet and not palatable at all for even the sweetest tooth, or maybe it was just the bread that wouldn’t let us enjoy it. For $65 I paid or for less, I wish I hadn’t. I should have gone to Sam’s or Wal-Mart...
