Came to each lunch with my military husband... First impression, hot with sweaty looking waitress and clientele. Nobody greeted us. We waited to ask the cashier if we could sit down or if someoen would take us to the table. She waved us to take a seat, so I grabbed 2 menus ro jopefullt speed things up. We sat in the rear of the restaurant. Very unpleasant looking customers. Lol. Some were just sitting with nothing on their table but a drink or menu. One waitress and a waiter was all I saw.... The place was hot, with no tunes or happy laughter. Everyone looked dead... Probably with hunger since they looked as if they were waiting an eternity to be waited on. I witnessed the waiter just toss a basket of chips on the tan4le next to us and walked away... The customers just laughed and mumbled under their breath..."oookkkkaayyyy?" No manners. No smiles. Hot. We went next door (literally walked a couple of steps) to Sabor Mexico. Found them when googled mexican food. Excellent service and...
Read moreIt's still a great restaurant with great food. I heard the prices are going up, but where aren't they during 2023? I had a plate for the first time in a few years since I've last visited. which is sad to say i haven't because it brings back some old family memories I won't get into. But I had a family member purchase a plate for me the other day. It was my first time having a to go plate and not dining in, and it still tasted great. Keep up the great work.
Update 7/17 I guess good help is in need. I went in to purchase nachos, and all the waitresses were busy cooking. The food was still good. When I opened the to go box, it caught me off guard cause it looked a little light, but it hit the spot.
11/5/23 The nachos are $10, so I can't complain about it if it doesn't feel like enough. I'm not a fan of the cheese used on the nachos. I've had better plates here than the nachos. Guess I'll let those go and come by again when I have time to sit and eat...
Read moreI heard about this place on Austin Highway, my old stomping grounds, in San Antonio. I decided to pay them a visit and try them out. I discovered this restaurant has been in this location for ~30 years.
We were greeted and seated really quick. The server brought us a menu, and I decided to order a migas plate, and my friend ordered the San Antonio plate. I had water, and he chose a bottle of Mexican coke.
Our plates arrived, and the food and plates were hot to the touch. There are two salsa - red mild and green hot. I chose the gree. The food was good and the prices were really fair.
The service was good, the staff was pleasant, and the place was clean and had the old Mexico feel.
I hope you take a chance and visit. I will be back to try out their lunch menu. I also hope your experience is as good and pleasant as mine was.
Note that they are ONLY open for...
