On 1/3/24 I ordered a Fiesta Meal online and arrived 10 minutes after the pick-up time and the order still was not ready. I was told it would take another 15 minutes even with only 3 people in the lobby. Meanwhile, the staff is very agitated with on another because the group can’t seem to get it together as a team. They all kept talking about a lady who was returning angry because they got her order wrong. Not one smile or courteous word from any of them. I wasn’t offered anything, not even a soft drink, for my extended wait. By the time I got my order home I was missing 2 pieces of chicken and the biscuits seemed to have been shoved in the box of chicken because all 3 were in pieces when I opened the box.
I’m 51 years old and have been eating Church’s Chicken since I was a kid. This has to be the first time that I have experienced anything like this. The staff had a bad work experience and seemed to take it personal, and then passing on that negative energy to not only myself but to the new customers walking in the door. This is a job and stuff happens sometimes. Perhaps, if they worked as a team, instead of finger pointers, their experience may have been different, or even better, and the customers walking in to spend their hard-earned money would not have felt the blunt of the hit from all that negativity. Time for a team workshop.
Church’s, please...
Read moreThe lady that took my order was very rude! She insisted that I tell her if I had exact change before she would ring my order up. I told her that I don't know what the exact total would be so I could answer till she gave me a total. She said she was waiting for her boss to bring change. Finally, I gave in and just told her yes. After I got my food, I realized that I forgot to order okra. Not wanting to talk to that women again, I went to the drive thru. I had asked the rude worker if the drive thru cashier had a separate bank and was told that they do but were also out of change. I ordered my okra and asked for it to be make fresh, because that is the only way it is good. The women said that it would be a three minute wait which I had no problem with. After paying, with a 20 dollar bill and recieving my change without any "no change" issues, I was asked to drive around to the side of the building to wait for my order to be brought to me. After 20 min, I drove back around and asked for the okra. The lady wasn't sure what I meant at first. Then she said she'd be ]k. I waited about 3 minutes and she brought me fresh okra. Of course my chicken was cold but I was ready to get out of that place. Almost an hour after arriving, we ate hot okra and cold...
Read moreChurch’s Chicken is one of those fast-food spots that delivers on comfort food cravings but also leaves room for improvement, which is why I’d give it three stars. On the positive side, the chicken itself is usually flavorful, crispy, and well-seasoned. Their fried chicken has that classic crunch you expect, and when it’s hot and fresh, it’s very satisfying. The honey butter biscuits are another highlight—soft, warm, and a perfect side that pairs nicely with the chicken. Portion sizes are generous, and the prices are affordable, making it a solid option when you want filling food on a budget.
That said, consistency is the biggest drawback. On some visits, everything comes out fresh and hot, while other times the chicken can be overcooked, under-seasoned, or sitting under the heat lamp too long. Service also tends to vary by location—sometimes friendly and efficient, other times slow or inattentive. Cleanliness is another area that could use attention, as dining areas and restrooms aren’t always maintained as well as they should be.
Overall, Church’s Chicken isn’t bad, and when they get it right, the food is delicious. But the inconsistency in food quality and service makes it hard to rate higher. A decent, budget-friendly option, but not...
