Panaderia Jimenez Coffee Shop — Restaurant in San Antonio

Super great service. Parking on Fredericksburg Road can be a little challenging, especially when you're coming out. There is parking in the back and side street, just FYI. Everything was fresh and delicious. One of my friends got a latte and said they really liked it. I had a Topo Chico, you can't find these everywhere, it was the perfect Afternoon Delight. As were the pastries. If you haven't had a guava cream cheese empanada, well then you haven't had one LOL, but you should. Pumpkin empanada and maranito for a classic. And you have to know that they serve kolaches because it's not written everywhere, but you need to ask. Have the jalapeno cheese kolache, don't eat this in your car because the flaky crust will get everywhere, and you don't want to leave any of that flaky crust behind. And it's not one of those little sausages this is a full size sausage buried in a Flacky ball of dough. One of my friends had the ham and cheese kolache, and they said it tasted just as good as it looked. Yum!. I think the young lady's name was Natascia, great customer service. Actually everyone who was working there was pleasant and courteous. Now I have to go back and try some of the other specialty flavors...

So I came here because I am in the Teach for America program and they gifted teachers a coffee and a pan dulce for teacher appreciation week. When I say I was blown away... actually, that might be an understatement. This bakery may be one of the best that I have ever been to. This small but mighty establishment takes hospitality to the next level. When walking in I felt as though I was walking into my aunt and uncles home. In addition to the welcoming environment, the pastries alone are enough to catch your attention. The café has a bountiful selection of pastries for all pallets. I had my very first concha (yes in my life) from here and I am not sure if anyone else will measure up to this esteemed bar. I will now compare any concha I have to Panaderia Jimenez. But the Nutella turnover, is what really stole my heart. It was light, airy, crispy, just delicious. I also ordered a pig and a breakfast pie which were great as well. (Update 10-08-2022 The concha and cinnamon roll are the best. I'm a huge fan of the Cereal Milk Latte with cold foam. Yum! They've added fun seasonal drinks and pastries!) This place is bakery meets coffee perfection. Really good espresso. Delicious pastries. I was excited about the mini concha and it was so good! The layout of this place, the displays, and the quality of product is all amazing. It feels top tier compared to the majority of coffee shops in SA. All the employees were easygoing and attentive. They all seemed genuinely happy to be there. The specialty lattes are unique and fun. I talked to a couple people who visit this coffee place often and you could tell they were in love with their drinks and sweets.
