I've eaten here plenty of times. Recently, my experience was not the best. It was about 230p on a Saturday afternoon, and was pretty busy. This can be expected for the location, food, and specials they are known to have. I didn't have to wait to be greeted or sat at a table with the menus. So, it appeared to be great as normal. It wasn't until I waited approximately 10 mins to be greeted by a server at the table. There were plenty of staff members working and couldn't understand why, other than change of shift approaching. By the time our waitress came to get our drinks, we were ready to order our food and did so. My friend and i were talking and conversation that we didn't really complain that the food was taking a little longer than usual. We just shrugged it off for the most part. When the food finally came out, we weren't starving, but the host who sat us, or our server, didn't notice we had any eating utensils. Our server was nowhere to be found for a few minutes. It was lucky enough that a first day buser was nearby and overheard us. He went to one of the hosts to make sure we were taken care of. The host proceeded to sit the family he was attending and spent a good amount of time talking with them. I didn't mind he was taking care of them, but was disappointed that he only nodded and never followed up with the request. It was fortunate enough that our server eventually came back after 10 minutes to check on us and then brought us a fork and knife bundle. The overall walk around and checking in on us was virtually nonexistent. A group that was getting sat nearby had to point out that the table was not cleaned very well and the floor was a mess. Rather than moving them to another section or table, the staff attempted to report the mess and get it cleaned, while the people were left to stand and wait (one of which was using a rollator to help walk). The guests ended up sitting themselves on a table they wanted without any help. Getting drink refills was almost impossible. I was glad to get my food. I had every intention of getting dessert, but my lengthy sitting was more than enough to discourage me. While I'm very understanding and willing to accept new hires, general traffic, and other variables... this was something I felt I wanted to share with the manager on duty as general feedback. My issue was that when I explained my experience, he would argue my "general time frames" and would reduce them. He even interrupted me in my explanation, assuming I was leading to another concern. This was not the case. He caught himself and how I reacted to his actions. As I pointed out some things, he kept getting distracted in our short discussion that I'm not sure he really heard the feedback. His response was to blame that he was short staffed by a manager since she was pregnant and could only work limited shifts. He explained that he had been at 6 different locations and never had these problems. The staff not doing their jobs or how they continued to talk to each other is a known issue... the rationalizing, minimizing, and justification weren't how I would expect a member of management to respond. Hence, this is why I felt the...
Read moreWorst dining experience, went in and got seated. I ordered fried chicken that they advertised on the billboard across the street the city. My wife order the country fried steak. Our order took about 15 min not a problem cause I figured they had to fry the chicken and the country fried steak. The fried chicken was dark almost looked burnt so I picked up the wing and it was hard and dry not even warm.So I stuck my finger in the breast and it was cold not even warm. I called the waitress and told her that the chicken was cold and hard. So I asked for the chicken and dumplings instead she took my chicken back and I waited and waited for Twenty mins and nothing so I called the waitress and asked what happened to the chicken and dumplings and she looked stunned. She went to the back and a girl rush out with a dumpling plate and said let me speak to the manager. My wife was done with her plate she didn’t even eat 1/4 of her steak the gravy was so thick it looked like frosting on it. She said it’s ok I don’t want to complain. I said we are paying we need to complain. The manager finally showed up about 10 minutes after and I told the issues with the food. I asked him what is your holding time on the fried chicken he said one hour and that they cook all the chicken at the same time. I said what the chicken should be waisted after 45 minutes. And showed him the gravy on my wife’s steak and he couldn’t answer for that all he said was he would talk to the cooks. He tried to get me to order something else I said I had to wait 20 minutes for dumplings that are already cooked. So no I don’t want anything and I’m not gonna return to this or any of your locations. We had issues twice at the south side location. So we figured we would try this location. But it was worst so never again so beware of your food at this place. I didn’t take a picture I should’ve. But I will let everyone about my...
Read moreVisited the Huebner location on a Monday morning around 10 am.. the environment was very cold, the fans were on high for no reason. im a 6' 220lb dude and I was cold, i can imagine the elderly couples sitting near me. It took forever to be greeted and almost 25 minutes for my food to come out, luckily I was not starving but I was on a time schedule. The order was taking noticeably long because the server approached me asking if i wanted the biscuits while I wait. I politely declined because I didn't want to spoil my appetite. I ordered the Country Boy bfast w Sirloin Tips, the plate came out cold w 3 small pieces of steak, half raw scrambled eggs, and a 1/2 serving of HBR. The only thing that was hot was the cinnamon fried apples. That tells me the food was sitting in the window for a long period of time. Which doesn't make any sense because we both were aware of the food taking long... Many players are involved in creating the best guest experience. It was the servers fault for not being on top of it, but it was also the fault of the Manager that was walking around and other servers who are not team players and help run food regardless if it's your table's or not, it was the managers fault because she should have been setting the mindset / goal for the shift and motivating and instructing the crew to be the best they can be... I had to send the eggs back and they did come out better but took a very long time. I had finished my small cold meal by the time they arrived... The server was not 5/5 stars but she was definitely polite and showed concern and urgency when she realize the situation not running as smooth... I wanted so badly to not pay for the terrible breakfast, but I had every intention to tip the waitress because she did a decent job... Nonetheless, I paid via mobile app and stormed out of there.. will probably not be returning at least to...
