I stopped in on my way home and ordered a Burrito while in Military Uniform. I ordered a Monster Burrito; after ordering, I went to the register to pay, after providing my phone number, the cashier told me that my points applied, so after paying I looked at my receipt and realized that they didn't apply the Military Discount even though I was in uniform. I asked the Cashier about it, I was told by the cashier that they got in trouble for applying the military discount to veterans in uniform by their corporate office. I was told that their corporate office told them not to apply the military discount unless the military member asks for it, even if they are in uniform. The cashier told me that in the past they applied approximately 70 military discounts in the span of 2 hours and their corporate office contacted them and told them to stop, and not to apply this discount unless the member specifically asks for it. To my military members/veterans visiting this store, be mindful to ask for your discount because their corporate office is telling the store employees to avoid giving it to us automatically even when we have our uniforms on to clearly show that the discount is applicable to us. Grimy! I have had issues at this freebirds location before, stemming from inconsistency in the sizing of making a monster burrito to this one employee with colored hair acting rude, by refusing to great customers! The new world of customer service, where store employees act as if customers are bothering them to...
Read moreI like to start with the bad, save the best for later. A few of the employees were kinda slow to help out, but the one who seemed to be running the show earned my five stars. Also the Barq's was low on syrup so I had to drink Coke.. the one man army only had one helper and had to run the register by herself so I didn't have the heart to ask either of them to refill it after I watched a group of about five or six walk in. I was really looking forward to that so I was bummed but here comes the good part.
For those of you who've never had a freebird burrito, there is literally no place I've ever been to that makes bigger burritos (I've been to enough places all over the country to be able to say that and reviewed several of them). The ingredients vary from fresh to morning-old, and the add-ons are usually free (with the exception of avocado which to me is kinda the standard, so... whatever). The guacamole goes very well with the jalapeño sauce and pico de gallo, if you like spicy burritos. Otherwise get the green tomatillo sauce.
For the veterans, this place seems a bit cheaper than other ones I've been to. Which I'm all about. They're generous with their portions of add-ons and the layout is perfect for large groups. It's clean, it's fast, it's everything a freebird should be. Also, as a little added bonus, the bathroom is very cold which is satisfying on a hot day and it's clean and...
Read moreSo first off, I love freebirds. I’ve was been a big fan of freebirds ever since they opened.
But the food I received on 8/17 was not the usual freebirds that I’m used to. I had ordered a monster burrito with cilantro lime rice. But the rice tasted undercooked or raw, I genuinely couldn’t tell other than it was crunchier than usual. I only made it halfway into my monster burrito before wrapping it up and giving up. (I usually finish a monster burrito quickly, my usual order is a super monster)
I had plan to eat the rest later after maybe heating it up on the stove but sadly I didn’t make it. I spent the entire day with hot flashes trying to sleep it off before finally projectile vomiting at 2am. It was in my hair and all over my restroom and I was so dazed and confused I ended up being late for work the next day. Very traumatic experience.
After work I tried requesting a refund through doordash, but doordash unfortunately said because I didn’t reach out immediately that I couldn’t get a refund.
I’m very sad, I came home from college and barely got the chance to try out freebirds again and I feel very let down by both the restaurant and doordash.
I love freebirds but I don’t know what they put in that burrito, and unfortunately I’m kind of scared to eat there again. They’re a good company that serves good food but that day was...
