J Anthony's Seafood Cafe — Restaurant in San Antonio

Been here twice this week, todays 2/18, and I have the worse experience!!!! I understand you’re “supposed” to be busy because it’s lent but if your ordering system isn’t working out...STOP IT! You have a speaker at the drive thru for a reason!!! Had to pass by three people to finally get the food and when I finally did, they got my order wrong. One person had to write down what I ordered, he got it write, Second person had to tell the dt person inside what my order was, and she got it perfect, gave me my total and I moved up. Third girl had to cash me out and hand me my food, was it busy? Not at all, only one car in front of me and two in the back. Easily could have been handled. And when I double checked my order, I had fries and drinks missing, which is what I ordered and what the second person had told the dt speaker. But did I get them, no. I had mentioned to girl about my missing food and she said okay and called her manager, this entire process wasn’t rude until I had mentioned to the manger what I ordered word for word and what the second person had said word for word. He said oh well and walked away!! If you order a 10 piece at McDonald’s and only get a four piece....don’t you think you should get everything else??? Terrible place with a rude...

Ok so it’s lunch time I decide let’s go here for some reason I had been wanting fish well I get there it’s probably 6 cars ahead of me okay fine no problem oh yea I’m in the drive thru so I ordered the San Antonio plate it comes with two pieces of fish two shrimps two tenders I got mash potatoes and corn for my sides well first thing is I waited about 30 minutes in the drive thru once you’re in that line you can’t get out so I was stuck okay I get back to work and I start with my mash potatoes it had no seasoning none at all let’s talk about the corn never had bad corn before ever it had no flavor no seasoning no anything it was almost like dirt well dirt had more flavor than that I’m not sure how I would know that but ok the only thing that was decent was the shrimp and tenders for 15 bucks keep your moolah I called the manager he was nice about the situation and said I could get a replacement plate and said they were short staffed which I understand that especially with this covid .. I just don’t know if I will return I’m unsure...

Got the Admiral Platter. Didn't have the crab cake, gave me the Fiesta shrimp. Good. But I'd have preferred the crab cake, especially if the shrimp was that good. The soup was alright, the hush puppies were dry but tasty... fresh i am sire they're amazing. The fried fish fell apart, tasty, needed more lemon for 3 pieces. The oysters. Omgoodness, the oysters. I'd go back just to eat their oysters again. Now I know what I really liked there and can get the right plate for me. Way better than the Las Palmas location I've known of for decades. That one is just in an unsafe location and the food is awful at that one. Little dude at the window was amazing. Doing his best. Very respectable, polite. Will be going back this weekend. Gonna adjust stars if I'm again impressed. The soup minus 1 star, the crab cake being sold out 1 star. Ask for more sauces. That huge plate only had 1 piece of lemon, 1 cocktail and 1 tartar sauce. Maybe for a smaller plate, but the Admiral should have double the sauces. Coleslaw was good, missing...
