Joey's is a bar that seems to be a hidden diamond on the St. Marys strip. While it's definitely not a bar you go to see a bunch of local shows play at- that honestly is part of it's charm. While I love local shows, sometimes it's refreshing to go somewhere that isn't extremely loud and where you can chill with your friends while being able to hear eachother talk.
The way the outdoor section is set up also adds to it's greatness due to it being practically separated from the rest of the world. Especially the upstairs patio.
The service is well done and while the line can sometimes take longer than it makes sense to in comparison to some other bars, it isn't really a huge hit against them since the drinks are prepared nicely.
They also have a large pool hall attached, however I can't really remark on that aspect since I haven't played in there before.
The one true con however is their womens restroom. Their stalls are incredibly tiny, one even almost pointlessly tucker where the door faces very closely...
Read moreSuper cheap owners- they never update or maintain anything. Pool cues are basically scrap wood at this point. Holes in the floor are never repaired, people always tripping. Bathrooms are a disaster. Tables and chairs are falling apart. They’re literally too tight to buy CHALK. Every last chalk is chewed up and used all the way to the paper.
Asked the server for a drink with no coconut - she brings out a coconut drink. We ask for replacement of a non coconut drink, which she brought. Then we get charged for the original coconut drink AND the new drink! Manager wouldn’t take it off the bill! We didn’t even drink it. They wanted the server to give us her tip to cover the drink, really?? Just cheap lowlife owners and management.
It gets worse: evidently a poor girl got murdered in the parking lot & the owners make the staff take down any of the fliers looking for information to track down her murderer. Just classless people. Can’t support...
Read moreReese was amazing. She was our waitress in the very beginning and when we first walked in she was quick to grab our drinks and made sure they were full and make sure we had everything we needed at the same time. She got us our food which was also delicious. We asked her about the pool tables and she explained how the rules went - eight dollars an hour for a table, even though she was super busy and I noticed she had a lot of tables, but she made sure we felt prioritized. She made sure that we were happy and had what we wanted. My husband and I haven’t had a date night in a few years (Kuz of kiddos) but after organizing a babysitter, we came here and were blown away by the service. Every date night we might have, we will be coming back here and asking for Reese again 10 out of 10 would recommend to everybody. Thank you Reese!! Made our light that much better and brought my husband and I that much...
