Burger Boy — Restaurant in San Antonio

The person placing our order must have thought we were going to have a scream off. Right as I began to speak, the first words she said were and I quote “Hold on!!!!”. Excuse me but I’m not holding on for dear life on a cliff there was no need to scream even after that she continued to scream so much that I couldn’t even understand the gibberish coming out of her mouth. My family and I pulled up to the window and not one of us could understand what came out of her three toothed mouth. No joke, it looked like a retirement home in there. Everyone being over the age of 50. If she wasn’t planning on watering us with her spit like some kind of plant in Texan heat, she was sure planning on throwing a fit because we asked her to turn our tea to a large. She went on to yell about how she already charged us for a regular and we tried to explain that we were going to pay the price of a large. I’m telling you she threw that drink in the trash like it was some grenade. After we got our food from the screeching banshee, we checked the bag for ketchup and I kid you not there were 4 ketchup packets for 4 bags of fries. We politely asked her for a couple more ketchup packets and she said “We already put 3 per bag!!!” Um ma’am I’m sorry but I think your going to have to go back to third grade math. We repeated our request and she huffed and puffed until she gave us 3 more, 3 MORE. This lady was really testing patience here even with that we kept our smiles on and asked for more. With three kids and two adults we want to eat ketchup with our fries. We eventually got our ketchup and drove away from the retirement home. We parked and began to eat, one burger had no cheese, one had no jalapeños and other had no mayonnaise. The drinks had more than half of it just being ice. I could go to Mc Donald’s and get better service, better food, and the kids would have somewhere to play. My Review is based on my May 10, 2024 visit... I've only been to this location because this is the only location that was closest to me about 20 minutes away BUT it USED to be worth it. Then I discovered they opened a Burger Boy 3 minutes away from me BUT for some reason the menus are different, what's on the St. Mary's menu isn't on the Military menu, hence why I have to go out of my way to this location. The only 2 visits to the new location on SW Military didn't have good service either. After driving out of my way, my order and meals were so unappealing, bland, sloppy, stale, with old gooey lettuce, smashed buns and just gross, it was a waste of time, gas and money. I guess Burger Boy is NO LONGER an option to eat at, visit and order from sine both locations have served me horrible food and the other doesn't have the same items as the St. Mary's location. Nonetheless, no loss here, it's not like it'll be my loss for no longer supporting Burger Boys Burgers. We came down to San Antonio for my son’s graduation from Oklahoma City. We were driving and had gotten hungry. Seen a sign that had Burger Boy turn right, off the highway. So we did. Cool little neighborhood. Seemed a little sketchy, but, not enough for us to detour somewhere else. We pulled up and a lady name Jenna (I believe) was taking our order outside. When we pulled up, she had such great energy and was very helpful figuring out what to order. I got a Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake, a double burger and fries. My wife got a single burger and fries. When we got back to the hotel and ate it, WOW! It was amazing! I can only imagine what it taste like fresh right there. Even 10 minutes after it was cooked it was still excellent. And the fries were great too. They are bigger crinkle cut fries but were crispy! I highly recommend going there. Also, I believe management should invest in Jenna. She is an employee that I would love to have working for me. It’s hard to find people with such a great attitude as she did....
