McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in San Antonio

I used love coming here to this place.. because the location by my house the food is just not like it used to be. But today was a different story. I love dogs but to watch someone who is working in a place where they serve food. Touch a dog and not wash their hands its definitely a place for me to think twice before coming here again. Im just not sure what is worse to touch a dog while working or to allow the customer to place the dog on the counter where everyone is ordering. Then not to wipe the counter or wash their hands is totally disgusting. Especially because the same person who brought my order and took my order is the same person who was touching the dog. Its a good thing i got there before they did. I took a picture but there was a female worker that was also petting the dog while they placed it on the counter. I just wished I had my phone out sooner to take the picture of them petting the dog while it was on the counter. The way they interacted with the customer leads me to believe that customer has brought that dog to this location before. I dont think I'd be coming here again. I definitely dont want dog hair on my food. Or to think it could happen...

I placed a pickup order for a sandwich with a side, a half sandwich with soup, and 2 kids sandwiches. I added pickles online but neither sandwich came with them. The rueben was ok. I won't be rushing back to get it but it wasn't terrible either. Same for the broccoli cheddar soup. It wasn't really seasoned... just tasted like cheese and broccoli. Not terrible. The kids meals were pretty good. I'd definitely come back just for that. There are a variety of options and the sides are pretty great. We also got 2 sweet teas. One with peach and one with black cherry. They were pretty good too. I would be willing to try a different sandwich if we came here again for the kids and tea lol. My biggest complaint is something that can't really be helped. I ordered for pickup but so did everyone else so the wait in line at the window was about 17 minutes. When I got to the window it took another 7 minutes to get our food and drinks. I was taking food to my husband for his lunch break and wasn't expecting it to take that long to pickup so his break was already half over when I got the food to him. 3 stars for meh food and a...

Not sure what's happening at this restaurant but I arrived and the drive thru lane was wrapped around the building. I waited for 10 minutes and it didn't move so I parked and went inside. The line to place an order was to the door and a second line was for people who were picking up orders already placed and paid for. My order was placed at 12:15 and the confirmation said 20 minutes so it should have been ready at 12:35 but I had to stand there and wait until 1:15 when the order was finally ready. A heads up would have been nice because I would've gone somewhere else for lunch. I couldn't leave because my card had already been charged and good luck trying to flag one of the stressed out employees to get a refund. I genuinely felt bad for them because they looked like they were in over their heads. I usually wait to cool off before leaving a bad review but when I got back to my office with the food some of my order was missing and it pushed me over the edge.
