The wedding was beautiful and we were very confident in our choice of this place for our wedding...up until the wedding night came. Before the ceremony even started, I, the bride, was informed that a water pipe had burst somewhere around the venue and that the bathrooms upstairs near the bridal suite were out of order. I was assured by the event manager, Erika, that the ones downstairs next to the Crystal Room (that we had spent well over $4000 to have minus the room fee because it was a weekday) would still be working. I believed her and went on with our night. It was very pretty, but I was oblivious to all the problems arising. It didn't come to my attention until after the wedding night and I was talking with some of my guests, that they told my husband and I that the bathrooms had been broken and that none of them would flush. A lot of them were embarrassed that they weren't able to flush the toilets and I feel horrible that they had to experience that while I had no idea. About a week or so after we got back from San Antonio my husband called the venue while I was at work to see if there could be any type of recuperation for the unusable bathrooms, but they sent him around in circles denying their liability and even going so far as to try and gaslight him that the bathrooms WERE working! None of this even mentions the snide comments that were said by Erika to my mother in law and a problem over our cash bar not having Vermouth for martinis because it was "not in our contract" but Vermouth is a MIXER and the cash bar in every part of our contract is only charging us for ALCOHOL used. No where in our contract did it list that we had to pay a separate fee for extra mix ins, and it wasn't even that they didn't have it on hand, it was just that they, for some reason, didn't have it already stocked in the Crystal Room's bar. If none of this had happened, our night would have been perfect but Old San Francisco's inability to take accountability for problems with their venue and making up things that had no prior say in our contract has totally ruined our experience. It seems they really didn't want our business since we didn't pay the max amount of money for as guests or rooms fees. The event manager, Erika, made that clear when she commented to my mother in law that "It's a good thing they didn't pay for the room" when the burst water piped had momentarily turned off the waterfalls...
Read moreWe had our wedding ceremony here on September 3, 2021. We had 100 guests. This venue is absolutely beautiful! The entry is grand and ample parking is available. The Venue responds quickly to questions and worked well with my vendors (Cake and DJ). We had our ceremony in the Gold Room upstairs. We were allowed to rehearse and decorate the day prior which was VERY helpful. The room was soft, elegant and romantic. The seating was good and allowed guests room to move comfortably. The only complaint is that it was very, very hot. Our Banquet Manager did turn on the A/C but it was not enough. I stood with sweat literally dripping down my neck and back as I said my vows. My hair was wet. I was so afraid that I would sweat through my dress and people would see it. Note - my dress was light and backless. My guests were also dripping in sweat. I was a little embarrassed and had to keep apologizing. Our reception was downstairs in the Crystal Room. Wow!! It’s was so beautiful and everyone repeatedly complimented the decor. This is definitely an amazing place to get married! The dance floor was a great space and our guests loved it. Shannon was so sweet and helpful. She used my preferred flowers and was super to work with. Our Banquet Manager also stayed diligent, organized and constantly checked in on us! The serving staff was quick, efficient and helpful. This really was a great crew! I am so grateful for them. Sadly, this room was very hot also. Every time someone hugged me, I had to apologize for the sweat dripping down my back. Needless to say, my Groom was soaked in a full tuxedo. The food provided by Absolutely Delicious Catering at the Venue was wonderful. We had several guests comment on how delicious and tasty it was. We had the poblano chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. I would absolutely eat this again if I could. It really was delicious! Overall, our wedding was perfect and BEAUTIFUL! I am glad that I chose this venue and really appreciated the staff. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is due to all of us having to sweat all night (. One small note- we were charged for security but never saw this person inside or outside at all. Luckily, we are a mature crowd and didn’t need it.

Read moreThis again was a planned stop on our bus tour. We thought it was a regular restaurant, but it appeared more like an event center since it was closed on the day we were there.
Water and table service was beautiful but we were crowded in the tables. I will say there were at least 2 busses there at the same time.
Our orders were taken ahead of time when we booked the trip. There was a chicken, tilapia, ground beef steak, and vegetarian pasta. Salad was also sitting out the table upon arrival along with a choice of dressings.
Staff was great about quickly clearing the tables and then a short wait for the main meal. The desserts were also on the table ahead of time, which many of us picked at or ate entirely as it looked delicious. A pastry puff with a cinnamon and powered sugar on top filled with lite cream and raspberry Jan with a blackberry on the side.
I chose the ground beef steak without the burgundy sauce. It looked like a huge meatball when it arrived with veggies on the side. Honestly, it was kinda good, but it gave me heartburn all night. On top of that, they kept bringing the wrong plates even with asking us several times what we ordered.
They did bring refills on drinks on a...
