Wow, I read a couple of reviews about this Bakery and decided to find it and try out their Conchas. I've tried other bakeries people have suggested for Conchas, but this bakery is awesome! It's in a very small strip center at Isom and Ramsey. I was greeted by a young woman with a smile which is rare these days. She was welcoming and very helpful. I had a lot of questions about the various goodies in the case and she patiently answered all my questions. I bought one Concha which was freshly baked and took it home to have with coffee the next morning. Let me tell you that I LOVED it.
I've never found one that really stood out from the others. Even the largest Pananderia in town does not impress me like this place does. The Conchas here are much better. I am going to make a special trip this morning to go buy another Concha this morning so that I can have it with my coffee and I also plan on buying another item. They have a very nice selection of goodies. It's going to be hard to decide which one. LOL. I highly...
Read moreThis was my first time at Bon Día and the service and pan dulce were fantastic. We were greeted with a warm smile and even a sample of a mini concha! Which is genius cause I feel like a panaderia’s concha is a good test for the quality and flavor of their pan dulce. The bread was fluffy and not dry, the sugary topping was perfectly sweetened with a flavor of vanilla. I ordered an oreja that I didn’t get to eat until the following day and it was fresh and crunchy and perfect with my coffee. We also had a pastry that was flaky and filled with the right amount of cream cheese and pineapple. My husband had a cannoli style pastry filled with Bavarian cream that was delicious. While we were there some kolaches had just come out fresh from the oven and hands down those are probably the BEST ones we’ve had in town yet! The bread was soft and buttery and the Jalapeno sausage was good too. We will 100% be back to try more pastries and get...
Read moreAs a baker, I am very supportive of local bakeries. Stopped by Bon Dia on my lunch break, and was excited to check out their variety of goods. There were empanadas, cookies. Nothing was labeled. It took a while to get the associate's attention. Asked about the product. What bothered me the most were the bugs. There were flies/gnats/cockroach wasps in the cases. She shooed them away, and they just flew to the other side of the case. I felt rude leaving empty handed. I bought two empanadas. Felt disgusted. Left the store, gathered the courage to try the empanada and it was very lackluster and dry, with no filling. They went...
