El Mariachi Loco — Restaurant in San Antonio

My sweet tea tasted like a chemical was mixed in it I couldn't quite describe the taste it just tasted like a chemical, the refried beans were so bland I ordered the enchilada plate and it was not tasty at all I left the majority of my food there so then I requested a carne quisada taco and also was disappointed with it the meat was tender but there was no seasonings no no flavor so bland as well I mean come on people where's all the spices are you afraid to use them? The atmosphere was nice the restaurant was clean, the waitress was friendly. I personally will never go back again I like my food to have flavor and nothing in that food I ate today had any kind of flavor . so I decided to go out of my way to go to this place. Sadly...

Visited because they open early at 6 AM. I ordered a pork chop breakfast plate with potatoes, beans, and sunny-side-up eggs with ranchero sauce, plus another plate with beans, potatoes, and what was listed as chilaquiles. Flavors were generally good, but the potatoes were undercooked and had a taste of old oil. I had requested sunny-side-up eggs but forgot I prefer them over-medium. When I asked to have them fixed, they were returned seconds after the microwave beeped.. eggs were in same position, just slightly more cooked. This spot is very close to the hotels. If your from out of town and need a good spot to eat, this is it. The food is amazing and it gives a you a small taste into what Tex Mex food is. The chips as they were brought to me were very fresh. The salsa had a kick to it but wasn’t burning hot. I ordered the Texas plate it was very flavorful with every bite. As I touched the tortillas it brought back memories of growing up. The tortillas were fresh and had a nice fluffiness to them. The food over all were amazing.
