Dude I can't even begin to say how much I love Diversions. I used to go to the one off Military and Commercial all the time as a kid, and I've been coming back to this location year after year since. It still has the old school vibe, with plenty of great classics, 3 multi-cade units that each have around 50 games on them, a super rare Carn-Evil machine with the original Midway guns still operating on it, and plenty more, including my favorite, Marvel vs Capcom 2. The claw machines that I've tried have been super fair, with responsive claws and tight handling, the staff that operate the place are super friendly. I got to have a nice chat with a gentleman who I assume is the owner last week about one of our favorite authors, brought about by the great decorations on the wall. This week I had a conversation with the super friendly game attendant about bands that we like. The attendant is on his game, constantly wiping down the machines and keeping the place spotless. $20 lasts 2 people a little over an hour, much better rates than other arcades I've been too. Diversions is a San Antonio institution, and a must visit for anyone looking to play some classics.

Just went back... Grew up going to this place many many years ago. Was always a fun, generous token-operated arcade. Still is! I was curious if the games would be run down, broken or out of sync(think aiming for shooters) but everything was great! No ticket games for prizes but lots of claw and skill games that offer prizes from stuffies to electronics, etc. They are not overly tight on payout either. Won 3x in the first visit. $20 = 88 tokens and most games are 2-3 towns with the big, sit-in shooter games(Walking Dead, Jurrasic Park, etc) being 4 coins. Very affordable. Not too many sprts games but did have basketball, punching bag, 2 hockey tables and the dance game in addition to many others. A lot of throw-back arcade games but for affordable and/or nostalgic fun, it's perfect. Give it a roll, try something other than the game card operated overpriced common options. Keep it up Diversions!

We just had my son's 13th bday party here for the second time. We had a blast! Loved it! All the kids loved it! So did the other parents!! Easy, entertaining and the facility is always clean! If your looking for a place to have a kids bday party, this IS the place. Ages ranged from 5 years old to 15 years old... All ages had fun and we're engaged at the party. Even the adults played games. They even go out of their way to take pictures for you, so you don't have too!! And you really can't beat the price... The price u pay for the party you get back in all tokens, basically the party is free. Thank you Diversions for making my son's bday rememberable!

I was hangin’ out with my son and we were trying to find something to do after lunch and guess what. Yelp didn’t let us down!

He wanted to play arcade games, but it was on a weekend afternoon and I don't go to those huge chain places full of screaming kids, trampolines, bowling, and everything else under one roof. Diversions is NOTHING like those places. Only a few kids in there and they were a bit older, so it wasn’t a mad house. There were no tantrums thrown (by me or the kids) and it was very clean.

We were in there for an hour and a half and only spent $20 total (that’s because of our MAD arcade game skillz – we are really THAT good LOL).

Really good selection of arcade games, a few older ones and a lot of recent ones. NOTE: it’s cash only, so make sure you come prepared. The games seem to average about 3 tokens but some of the bigger dual player games are 4 tokens and air hokey is 6 tokens (see picture for token prices). Every single game we played worked, so that’s a definite plus.

They have plenty of those crane games, for those who dig that. No food but they do have a few sodas, bottled water and Gatorade for purchase.

I couldn’t find ANYTHING wrong with this place and trust me, I tried to (just as you do on a first date). It was clean, everything worked, and the staff member was friendly.

Do yourself a favor and show this locally owned business some love – you will be happy you did. It...

Okay, I grew up going to arcades so visiting diversions game room is nostalgic for me. I we do enjoy visiting Diversions. They have a wide variety of classic games as well as some new ones. for example, I was surprised the other day when I went in and I saw a new version of the Ninja Turtles video game. that has to be one of my favorite arcade games ever! with regards to older games you got everything from Time Crisis to Pac-Man. oh and I almost forgot to mention they have this really awesome Walking Dead game. It's brand new and really fun to play. I also appreciate the fact that you get bonus tokens for spending more cash in the token machine. So spending 5 or $10 actually gets you more than $5 or $10 worth of tokens. Divergence is a great place to take your kids to play or it can also be a place that you go on a date. Personally, I've always gone there with my girlfriend as part of our date night we'll go out somewhere to eat and then go over to diversions to play video games. it is a family-friendly place without over-indexing on being child-centric. Meaning it doesn't feel like it's just a place for kids nor does it feel like it's just a place for adults they managed to strike a good balance between those things.I strongly recommend that you visit diversions. If you like video games and you miss the days when arcades were popular, then you're going to want to check...

My favorite place in SA. One of my favorite arcades, throw it up there with Add a Ball and Jupiter. No pinball but it is hard to find pinball in Texas. Gotta go to the West Coast for some good pinball places. Games are reasonable and tokens only. Token machine is always full. Discounts for big bills. Throw in a $20 and extra tokens pop out. Nice variety of games, claw machine, real prizes. I mean real nice stuff for the prizes (PlayStations, Switch, iPhones, Headphones, and CANDY!!!).

The attendants are very kind, polite, professional. Great guys! Not in your face but always there to help. Those guys are professionals, always keeping the machines running, bathrooms squeaky clean, tokens and prizes stocked. Honestly, those guys who run Diversions are the best in the arcade biz. I always feel welcome and safe. Thanks dudes!!! :-)

They have excellent hours, open late till 2am. No they don't have booze. Yes its gotta family vibe, but your in SA. If you want to get wasted and graffiti the bathroom lol, go to LA... This is SA, best be on your best behavior :-)

With that said, if you ever want to challenge me in a game of Street Fighter... I'm always at that machine whenever I swing thru SA.

I have only one question Are you a RYU, KEN, or AKUMA? Me... I'm all 3, just depends...
