Take your business elsewhere. This place is not worth your time. This place is clean, the menu item selection is solid but service is far from knowledgeable, prices are way above what they should be taking into account their poor location and serving sizes. The food quality is Low lacking simple accommodations such as home made corn OR flour tortillas and green salsa.
Here is further detail :
The pros: -Friendly greeted at the door. -Staff is clean and well groomed. -Floors are clean, place is well ventilated and nicely lit by natural light. -Tables are clean and presentable set with clean quality silverware wrapped in linen napkins. Menu has some Authentic dishes which was nice to see.
The Cons: Staff: They do not have a green salsa. Yes, that's insane I know. It's like going to a burger joint that doesnt carry ketchup. -No uniform policy is enforced which makes for unprofessional appearance. -My server never introduced himself, never got his name, when asked about lunch specials he stepped away from the table stretching out his neck towards the front of the restaurant to see what they had, then was unable to provide me with their prices after poorly describing the simple dishes. -After dropping off my food the tortillas didn't hit the table for another 3 minutes. When they came, I was unpleasantly surprised to see neither the corn or flour were house made. -I was NEVER asked if the meal was to my liking. -My fajitas were without exaggeration the WORST I've ever had. They were extremely TOUGH and chewy, and the onions and bell peppers were sauteed in bulk separate from my fajitas, as they were rendered to a soft texture-less mush. My table was never cleared off entirely. My server came and asked if I wanted anything else and when I said perhaps dessert, his lacking of basic knowledge again came shining. He had to leave the table again and instead of bringing me a menu came back and said "Chocolate cake, and Sopapillas" I asked how much they costed so he had to "go check the computer" and leave me with half information once again. Once I ordered a chocolate cake he came and put a piece of cheap dry chocolate cake in front of me, and here I am sitting with my cake next to the remainder of my dirty dishes he didn't think to clear like dirty silverware, my empty tortilla baked and a few empty ramekins. Instead of asking why I hadn't touched my dessert, my server came by and dropped the check on the table. I ordered a glass of warm milk to wash down my dry cake to which he said "I dont know if we have warm milk" so he left to go find out the obvious and retrieve it taking another 6 min. Mind you all of this at 2:00pm with 4 tables in the entire restaurant and about 4...

Read moreSan Antonio has so many Mexican restaurants to choose from, so finding one that met all of our requirements for my fiance's 50th was a challenge. But this place really provided everything that we were looking for! We had originally looked into Mamacita's but they have a strict no-reservations policy, and with several elderly people in our party, we couldn't take a risk of having to wait a long time and plus we wanted to have an idea of how to set things up (for the cakes, the gifts, etc.) The staff at Casa Sol said the large party wouldn't be a problem (we booked a party of 23 about 8 days before) and they even had another event already going on that same date. So handling large parties (weddings, birthdays, etc.) is something that this restaurant is super well-equipped for and experienced in. They set up a fajita station, was flexible on the food options (including a vegetarian and hamburger for the kids option) and the food was absolutely spectacular. Knocked it out of the park. And the owner also helped to serve our guests for the first buffet trip, so that was really nice. Their staff also help set up the balloons, gift station, and cake space. Our server was also great, making sure that we were doing ok with beverages and cocktails and that we had everything we needed.
It was all amazing and made for a wonderful and memorable evening. I highly recommend this place for your next party/large event. They will...
