We stopped by for a quick lunch. They have some strange decorations like they left up Christmas decorations and tried to make them easter with streamers. We were seated quickly. The table was set for two, but we had our toddler with us and they didn't give him any utensils or a plate. I ordered the mixed fajitas while my husband got a tamale combo. The food was hot, but these are the weirdest fajitas I've ever had. Half the plate was covered in grilled vegetables such as carrots and zucchini. I didn't mind that, but it just left less room to add meat. It also came with refried beans, rice and a little dab of guacamole. I had to keep asking for utensils and plates for my toddler. The host was actually very nice and gave my child a fruit snack on the way out. Overall, the food was fine, but nothing super special. I also wish they would have been more attentive to us since we needed water and utensils after my kid dropped his or drank from mine.

Pros : chips & salsa are delish, the guac is amazing and so reminiscent of my FAV guac from a childhood Mexican restaurant which I have dearly missed. My chimichanga was soooo good but def could have used more meat since I paid an addtl $3 for a steak upgrade, but then my daughter's tacos were overflowing with meat so that a bonus. My daughter's fajita beef tacos were good too. Our waitress was very sweet. Cons : the whole restaurant smells bad as soon as you walk in. Like septic issues in the building? Not sure. The rice and beans were just so so. The food also took a very long time to come out, even in an empty restaurant, so make sure you're not in a hurry when you come here. It was worth the wait, though! Overall a yummy experience.

3 of us came for lunch, our server was nice but unsure if it was the order taking or the kitchen but all our orders were wrong. Taco was supposed to be chicken and came out with ground beef that tasted worse then Taco Bell. I mentioned to the server that all our orders were incorrect and there wasn’t any offer to correct it. The only part of the meal that was good was the guacamole. Chips and salsa aren’t good, the salsa taste like tomatoe paste and no flavor. When asked for hot sauce she said that they only had the salsa which was not edible. The manager and I spoke, he was gracious when he found all the mishaps but first and last time going there.

Take your business elsewhere. This place is not worth your time. This place is clean, the menu item selection is solid but service is far from knowledgeable, prices are way above what they should be taking into account their poor location and serving sizes. The food quality is Low lacking simple accommodations such as home made corn OR flour tortillas and green salsa.

Here is further detail :

The pros: -Friendly greeted at the door. -Staff is clean and well groomed. -Floors are clean, place is well ventilated and nicely lit by natural light. -Tables are clean and presentable set with clean quality silverware wrapped in linen napkins. Menu has some Authentic dishes which was nice to see.

The Cons: Staff: They do not have a green salsa. Yes, that's insane I know. It's like going to a burger joint that doesnt carry ketchup. -No uniform policy is enforced which makes for unprofessional appearance. -My server never introduced himself, never got his name, when asked about lunch specials he stepped away from the table stretching out his neck towards the front of the restaurant to see what they had, then was unable to provide me with their prices after poorly describing the simple dishes. -After dropping off my food the tortillas didn't hit the table for another 3 minutes. When they came, I was unpleasantly surprised to see neither the corn or flour were house made. -I was NEVER asked if the meal was to my liking. -My fajitas were without exaggeration the WORST I've ever had. They were extremely TOUGH and chewy, and the onions and bell peppers were sauteed in bulk separate from my fajitas, as they were rendered to a soft texture-less mush. My table was never cleared off entirely. My server came and asked if I wanted anything else and when I said perhaps dessert, his lacking of basic knowledge again came shining. He had to leave the table again and instead of bringing me a menu came back and said "Chocolate cake, and Sopapillas" I asked how much they costed so he had to "go check the computer" and leave me with half information once again. Once I ordered a chocolate cake he came and put a piece of cheap dry chocolate cake in front of me, and here I am sitting with my cake next to the remainder of my dirty dishes he didn't think to clear like dirty silverware, my empty tortilla baked and a few empty ramekins. Instead of asking why I hadn't touched my dessert, my server came by and dropped the check on the table. I ordered a glass of warm milk to wash down my dry cake to which he said "I dont know if we have warm milk" so he left to go find out the obvious and retrieve it taking another 6 min. Mind you all of this at 2:00pm with 4 tables in the entire restaurant and about 4...

San Antonio has so many Mexican restaurants to choose from, so finding one that met all of our requirements for my fiance's 50th was a challenge. But this place really provided everything that we were looking for! We had originally looked into Mamacita's but they have a strict no-reservations policy, and with several elderly people in our party, we couldn't take a risk of having to wait a long time and plus we wanted to have an idea of how to set things up (for the cakes, the gifts, etc.) The staff at Casa Sol said the large party wouldn't be a problem (we booked a party of 23 about 8 days before) and they even had another event already going on that same date. So handling large parties (weddings, birthdays, etc.) is something that this restaurant is super well-equipped for and experienced in. They set up a fajita station, was flexible on the food options (including a vegetarian and hamburger for the kids option) and the food was absolutely spectacular. Knocked it out of the park. And the owner also helped to serve our guests for the first buffet trip, so that was really nice. Their staff also help set up the balloons, gift station, and cake space. Our server was also great, making sure that we were doing ok with beverages and cocktails and that we had everything we needed.

It was all amazing and made for a wonderful and memorable evening. I highly recommend this place for your next party/large event. They will...
