As a food enthusiast, this is my first negative review for a business. While I value and respect small businesses, the collective behavior of the staff at Ray's Pizza warrants transparency.
The lady who took our order messed things up from the start. Checking Google reviews, it seems others had similar issues with the same lady taking orders.
So we ordered 12 wings, a cheese pizza, and half a chicken, cheese breadsticks but she only charged us for 6 wings instead of 12. Upon correcting the order oversight, we failed to notice our receipt for rest of the order.
The pizza arrived remarkably fast, within 10 minutes, but with an unrequested addition—pepperoni, a clear violation of our religious dietary restrictions. Despite explaining the error to the waiter, the solution offered was to eat the half without pepperoni, it was impractical due to the pervasive smell coz it was baked all together and especially after mentioning religious restrictions.
She agreed to correct it the order. After a 45-minute wait for the correct pizza, we discovered that it was never coming. My brother went at the front desk and asked. The waiter nonchalantly informed us that the chef forgot, offering a refund. Shockingly, it became apparent that they had no intention of correcting their mistake, making us feel insulted and disrespected.
I understand the chef's disappointment over food wastage and time but the blame rests on the initial incorrect order. It was the lady who got the order wrong but obviously wouldn’t admit her mistake.
A clear and respectful conversation would have been appreciated, yet instead, we were made to wait needlessly, leaving our family feeling insulted and humiliated. We would have ignored everything and gone somewhere else if they didn’t want to correct the order but instead they decided to play this game and make fun of my family which is extremely sad and humiliating.
Very politely and respectfully we asked why they wasted our time. The staff just laughed and went into the kitchen without explaining. My family didn’t react and left the place. I decided to write my story here than wasting my time arguing with them.
This experience falls far short of the positive dining experience we anticipated and hoped to share with others. I’m sure the staff expected this review coming tonight And clearly they don’t care. Our story serves as a cautionary tale for those considering Ray's Pizza, urging them to think twice before enduring the disrespectful...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience
I recently visited Ray's Pizza and Gelato, and I must say, it was far from the delightful outing I had hoped for. Right from the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere felt off. The young girl at the counter was anything but welcoming. Instead of a warm greeting, I was met with a lackluster attitude that made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. A little friendliness goes a long way in the hospitality industry, and unfortunately, I found none here.
Then there was the food. I had high hopes for the pizza, but they were quickly dashed. The cheese on the pizza was bizarre—almost rubbery and lacking any real flavor. It felt like I was chewing on a bland, chewy substance rather than enjoying a slice of pizza. The crust was equally disappointing, lacking that satisfying crunch and warmth that one typically expects. Instead of a comforting meal, it was a struggle to finish even a few bites.
To make matters worse, when our food was finally delivered, the person who brought it out had an unfortunate issue with body odor. While I completely understand that personal hygiene can sometimes be a challenge, it did not contribute positively to my dining experience. The combination of unappetizing food and an unpleasant smell made me want to leave as soon as possible.
Overall, my visit to Ray's Pizza and Gelato was a letdown. The lack of welcoming service, subpar food quality, and the unfortunate experience with the staff member's odor created an uncomfortable environment. I really wanted to enjoy my time there, but it felt more like a chore than a treat. I hope they can address these issues, as I would love to see this place succeed. However, based on this visit, I cannot recommend Ray's Pizza and Gelato. There are far better options out there that truly value their customers and offer a quality...
Read moreGreat open dining room where you order at the spacious counter while ordering of the overhead digital menu. Tons of amazing plates! Tons! Desserts omg! The Gelato is I believe12 different flavors if not more! Maybe 16 amazing choices! I've always passed by here thinking it was a tiny dark pizza shop. Perhaps they recently remodeled and expanded but I could be wrong on that. It is very bright and has a nice atmosphere inside with plenty of tables and lots of booths. The counter area is well managed by a really nice young cashier. Maybe this is a family owned establishment as I feel a committed familial feel between the staff just by observing their interaction. I feel welcomed when I enter and the friendly cashier knows her stuff I like this place. Very casual but you wouldn't feel overdressed if you came overdressed you know what mean. The dessert case next to the large counter area features these amazing cakes for sale by the slice and the cheesecake is the biggest piece I've ever been served for it's low price. The prices are good. Not anything highly overpriced but within line with today's costs. Back to the cakes wow they have amazing flavors about half a dozen or so choices. They all appear homemade and are again priced per slice at a terrific addition to a meal. Most places are just too expensive for a small slice of cake versus Rays Pizza. These slices are perfectly good to share after dinner. Below $6 each. Even the cheesecake! I've visited during mid afternoons and it hasn't been crowded of overly busy however likeost places come about 6 they get pretty busy. I can tell it's a local favorite to many residents around the area. I'm happy that I found this gem of a place. They also have draft beer and it's ice cold and reasonably priced....
