My Girl ordered for us at 6:30pm on Monday (4/12/2021) for pick up at 7:00pm. We opted to pay in-store with apple pay. We arrived at 6:55pm and stood in line to pay. We paid by 7:00pm (I have proof on the receipt). My girl paid and left to go to work right. I stayed behind and waited for the food. I waited for 45 minutes. I stood by the front door and didn't touch anything and waited patiently. I watched customer after customer come in and get their meal to go. Customers came in, sat down, ordered, ate, and finished while I stood. (I have a lot on my mind and was lost in thought but I was conscious of the traffic of customers coming and going.) No one asked me a thing or said a word to me. At 7:44pm, I sent a text to my girl to get her money back and that I was leaving. I walked out at exactly 7:45pm. I drove down the street to mud creek to have a walk and my girl calls me saying they would not refund the money, accused her of ordering food and not picking it up in the past, and that I needed to go back to sort it out. By this time, it is 8:10pm. They close at 8:00pm. I knock on the door and they invite me in, they try to hand me the food that was supposed to be ready at 7:00pm. I say no thank you, I would like a refund. The manager/owner tells me he cannot refund me. I ask why and he says because I ordered the food and he has it ready. I said that I stood patiently by the door for 45 minutes with no answers or even any acknowledgment and I watched many other customers come and go. I felt ignored and forgotten so I left. (If I had paid for it then I would have dealt with it before I left but my girl paid so I left it to her to handle reimbursement.) The manager/owner tells me that I did not wait for 45 minutes, made a second accusation of ordering in the past and not picking it up, and that he would not refund any money. I asked for proof of his accusation because I came to him with proof of my accusation. (my receipt showing time ordered and time paid) He sank a little and said he had no proof. I then asked again for a refund and he refused. So, I said Okay, my friend, keep the food and keep the money. I told him I would write this review and exited. (I do wish I had taken the food to give to a homeless person that lives near by but I was too frustrated to think of it in time.) My Girl loves the food here and I didn't mind it too much and I feel bad that she has to find a new place. This guy lost us as customers forever and we ordered from there about 3 to 4 times a month. (I have proof...

The atmosphere-- This is a more casual restaurant -- it evokes a pleasantly simple Cafe feeling. I didn't feel awkward or out of place walking in. I came while it wasn't busy, as a note.
The service-- I noted after ordering my takeout that it was my first visit and I was going to peruse the menu for future visits. The lady on duty took time to point out some of the more popular items, tell me about scheduling orders for convenient pickup, and even chattered about food with me while she worked and I waited. I didn't feel like I was a bother or like I was being rushed out.
The food-- I got an appetizer sampler as a snack since I'd skipped lunch, but it was too early for dinner. The sampler came with fried shrimp, Rangoon, egg rolls, and spring rolls.
Shrimp: the server told me shrimp was pretty popular there, and I can see why. It had a cleaner taste than most I'd had elsewhere, and the tempura was perfectly crisp.
Spring rolls: despite their fried form, I would feel okay ordering this if I wanted something light. The texture of the vegetables and vermicelli was lovely, and it wasn't strong tasting.
Egg rolls: these are MEATY. Probably the heaviest items on the platter, they did not skimp on the meat. Very tasty, but beware overindulgence if you have a meal coming.
Rangoon: these are simple-tasting, the cream cheese being these star flavor, of course. There is a generous dollop in these. Now, simple is good, here. The cream cheese isn't sweet, which some places have begun doing, so these are a welcome change.
Overall, I was happy and will return again sometime,...
Read moreThis was the closest Chinese food place i could find.. i always pass by this place and wanted to try it. Exterior was good in nice but busy location. Interior was average Chinese restaurant. Not what it looks from outside. I liked their online website where you can order for delivery but you have to give your credit card info to place even a takeout, which is not cool , or may be not for me. I was in, and there was a person at the deck on a phone (tip to the manager, when you are is a service business, smile at you customers.) I can understand he might be taking to some one. But a simple smile, and a welcome gesture would have gone a long way. He did not even care to look at me . . Eventually after a min or 2, a lady came out and got me going, she was nice and smiling for her, i felt , ok i am welcomed here after all. I was back to my place . opened my food. And the egg drop soup was super salty. I had to trash it. The chicken fried rice.. i might be over judging them but it felt they were short on chicken and mixed a few chicken pieces from the chicken with broccoli. Simply put , it felt the chicken was not meant for the fried rice. Super big, flat and thin slices of breast chicken. I ordered their spicy extra XXX. And it still tasted it could use some seasoning, not even close to spicy or mild. Over all i dont like it as much as i do to go to golden wok. But still this is just down the block and i might go back if i had no other option and was...
