I decided to do an online order. I set the pick-up time for 10:20-10:25(which was the earliest time I could choose and it was 10:05 when I was placing the order). I ordered 2 honey butter chicken biscuits, one with extra honey butter and one regular with the meals. So I get to whataburger at 10:22, and I stand behind another gentlemen under the Online Order pick-up sign, figured that he had a pick up order too. So after about 10 mins of just standing there waiting, the cashier who had helped about 6 people at this point and clearly saw me plenty of times and with a clear view of people in the kitchen also making eye contact with me, I asked the man in front of me if he had an online order too and he replied with no, he works there (and I now saw his shirt with a whataburger on it) and waiting on supplies and asks me if I had checked in, which is funny because I had been behind him this whole time. So now, after the man had called for someone to help me and I checked in after another 5 mins, I finally got my food and I get my drinks and head back to the Airbnb. On the app, it just says to pick up food under the sign, it should at least say check in with a cashier, if no one is even going to bother to help the people standing under the sign. So once I get back and see my food, I’m even more upset because one sandwich had no honey butter on it at all. And the other barely had any either so luckily I had asked for an extra cup of honey butter. So I hope this whataburger location reads this and train their employees better to help the customers and keep an eye for people who had mobile orders because I not only had the cashier walk by me a few times but another employee from the kitchen had asked the man in front of me if he needed anything and then returns to the back, not asking me anything. So I was going to put 2 stars but they also messed up my sandwiches which is ridiculous because how can you forget to put honey butter on a sandwich called Honey Butter...

Ever since Whataburger "sold out" to corporate interests, the quality of food from Whataburger has plummeted. Our experience today did NOTHING to dissuade that impression. We bought a chicken sandwich (the #10) and the "Bacon Blaze Jalapeño Double," a limited time offer sandwich. The #10 order was supposed to have onion rings; the BBJD was to come with fries, and both were "To Go". When we got home, we discovered both orders had fries - no onion rings. The chicken sandwich contained wilted lettuce and a piece of mushy tomato. The BBJD had overcooked, dry meat. The spicy sauce that was used on the burger was tasty but applied in such abundance that it had to be wiped away. It's unlikely we'll return except out of desperation. My biggest mistake and regret is not checking the order before leaving. It is major pain in the a** to have to return to the restaurant for the order to be corrected. More to the point, the order was printed and affixed to a bag, and everything was clearly what we requested. So why can't people fulfilling the order pay attention? If you read this far, be sure to check, and then double-check your order before you eat it. Think twice about coming here. I am not from San Antonio but have lived here for a year and this Whataburger has been the ONLY Whataburger that has exceeded my experience expectations because all the other ones I’ve gone to take foreverrrrrrr and will still forget to put something in your order that you payed for. I’ve never had cold food from you guys and your coffee was never watered down. I moved in the area and always did the mobile order option and each time I arrived y’all had my food ready to bring to me right away and the one time y’all didn’t you guys gave me my $ back which was totally unexpected. That is customer service!! If you’re reading this and had a bad experience, please cut them some slack and try them again. I recommend ordering on the mobile app because they’ll come out promptly after you pull up.I promise I’ve tried other nearby Whataburgers and this one has been the one I stuck to. DO NOT GO TO THE ONE ON NACAGDOCHES by the Walmart. They gave me cold food, took long, and on top of waiting forever them to brew fresh coffee , it was watered down! What a disaster!
