I love Starbucks, but not this Starbucks. I walked in today hoping to quickly get what I usually get (venti Pike w/whole milk) and light snack. I walked out with a burned hand from a dripping coffee cup, a pastry I did not order, and a feeling that I had no options but just to take it. I'm never going back. Maybe the only good thing about this place is that it is LGBT friendly; but there are many other LGBT friendly coffee places in the city that at least appear to care about their customers.
-Walked in, was first in line. Waited ~5 minutes before anyone greeted me.
-In that time, I counted 8 employees working; no one talked to me or seemed to be aware there was a line.
-I placed my order: venti pike place & coffee cake, which was in the display case. I requested whole milk because there was no such carafe.
-I tried using apple pay. Didn't work (check my account when I got home sufficient funds.
-Meanwhile, the line behind me gets to be about 3-4 customers long.
-After paying, I was told they didn't have coffee cake and those in display were display only (which was either wrong or concerning because I've often been handed things out of the display). The only comparable replacement was a muffin, which I really did not want, but I did not want to hold up the line any longer.
-I waited for my coffee, because when you order coffee the barista is supposed to fix it, and give it to you where you check out. This did not happen. The barista then proceeded to make several drinks and did not talk to the person behind me.
-Several minutes later, the barista still had not talked to the person behind me, explained what they were doing with my order, and just continued making other drinks.
-In that time, the line grew to 6-7 people. Still no greeting of these customers.
-The barista made my coffee (no milk) and placed it with all the other drinks at the end of the coffee bar.
-I went to another barista and asked for whole milk. He was behind one of the machines and pulled up the jug of milk like he was going to poor the milk, over the machine, into my cup. Reluctantly, I took the lid off my coffee and started to put up my cup.
-The barista realized the idea was bad and told me to put my cup down, because he was going to poor the milk into a cup for me.
-I put the cup down on the ledge in front of me, and my hand hit a display sign that was partially blocking the area of the counter directly behind the machine. Coffee spills. My fault for not paying close attention, but the fact that spilling coffee all over my hand wouldn't have happened if the service wasn't so horrible was upsetting.
-The second barista handed me a bunch of napkins; I was grateful but wanted to wash my hands. My luck, both bathrooms were locked.
-My options: (1) spend my time and further hold up the line, ask for a manager and inconvenience all the other patrons to likely get an "I'm sorry we'll do better"; or (2) walk out. I walked out, and I'm never going back.
-Also, getting out of that parking lot on the weekend is damn death trap.
I echo the other featured reviews on Yelp: "If you're in a rush move on to the next location." "Read the reviews! Worst customer service EVER! This Starbucks is by FAR the worst Starbucks ever." "Slowest. Starbucks. Ever. Every time I come here there is a line. A slow, slow moving line. They need to hire more people, or new people, because the wait is ridiculous." "Yep. Still the worst ever." "The coffee is good, but the service...
Read moreFirst let me say i live right down the street and always go here . Usually pretty good customer service. Today not so much passive aggressive is not ok or nice nor is it good customer service. I ordered from my ap since i am losing my voice due to bad allergies . I ordered 3 minutes before i got in the drive thru line usally there is a line so it would give them 5-7 min for my order . This morning there wasn’t a line so i pulled up and asked for my order and she says we don’t have it and i say i can show you my phone and she says oh ok i see it . You ordered 3 minutes before so next time wait 5-10 min before you come drive thru …excuse me ? That wasn’t necessary to say to me i would just wait knowing i had just put the order in . If there were a long line the timing would have been 5 - 7 min so there was no line so what if I came thru i had an appointment to be at and thanks for causing me to further strain my voice by having to tell you i put in the order ! What was the point in using my app? I pull up and my drink is ready well thank you 🙏 but didn’t you just passive aggressively tell me to next time not to get in the line so soon ? Hmmm very rude . I have never been repremanded by a Star Bucks employees ever only at this location 3 times and i’ve had it …do better young people yall all seem to think that passive aggressive talk is ok since you are not yelling or cussing but it is not ! And i’m 46 and still think this is super rude for anyone to be treated like that . So i will be going to two other Starbucks near by until i am over this disgusting...
Read moreDec 31, 2024 appox 1:30pm-2pm Extremely rude manager Jeanette or something like that at this location. I will find out once I speak to corporate and will update with her name. It was my special need Son's birthday and she refused to honor his birthday drink. He was in tears. I will be reporting to the district manager. I no longer will be giving Starbucks gift cards out to friends and family. Very condescending attitude. When I called back to give her a chance to apologize, Another employee answered the phone and said out loud "she's reporting you to corporate" extremely unprofessional very rude location. The other manager Mary I had no issues with on a previous visit this month Dec 2024. There's always a bad apple in the group. Unfortunately, for them, they have lost lifetime customers. Hopefully this manager gets reprimanded asap! At this point, it's no longer about the drink. It's about respect for someone, and customer service which this lady has zero!!
From the Starbucks employee handbook.: Employees at Starbucks learn how to understand and respond to the needs and desires of customers in a good manner. In tense situations, they employ the "latte method":
"We listen to the customer's complaint, acknowledge it, act by correcting the problem, thank them, and then explain why the problem happened."
This store needs retraining. I will continue to voice until...
