This is about 17315 west I-10 San Antonio, TX (wasn’t listed!) location NOT Culebra Commons. I came in yesterday after a 24 hour fast and an intense craving for pizza just before 2pm. Im new to the area and this location came highly recommended. Upon entering, I sat at the bar for a quick lunch. I ordered the two slice/salad and drink combo for 12.99. The service was a little slow, my bartender kept disappearing, outside of assisting the tables behind me. It was also very low volume at this location when I came in. My Cesar salad was brought out with Little to no dressing and I had to wait an additional 4 to 5 minutes in order to get her attention so not only to ask for more dressing but also silverware to eat it with. Not a big deal in my mind. But it seemed to get worse. My pizza finally came out and they were old & dry slices. The cheese was hard and yellow. The pepperonis were very hard as well. At first, I paused, looking at it not sure if this is just the actual quality of the pizza- perhaps the pictures online were just misleading. But then I began to eat it because again I had just ended a fast and I also did not feel like waiting for the “AM Bartender” (as listed on my receipt; a petite young lady with curly hair & round glasses) to reappear. My stomach started to turn a little after the first slice so, I paused for a second. In that time, a gentleman sat at the bar, as well, a seat or two down and ordered the exact items/combo that I did. So I waited to finish eating, intentionally, to see how his pepperoni slices came out versus mine. And what do you know? His slices came out fresh, the cheese was white and the sauce and pepperonis were not dry. At this point, I bring my old slices to the bartenders attention compared to what was brought out to the gentleman beside me and requested that my order be treated with the same care and attention. So I request new slices. She takes the old slice into the back and speaks to a manager according to her and then comes back out with the old slice stating that “I have new slices working for you, the manager okayed it. It should be out for you shortly”. Then proceeds to offer the old slice to me AGAIN, in which I kindly declined DESPITE already saying that I didn’t want it and would rather wait for the fresh slices. The manager never came out to address my concerns either. By the time the new slices come out, I had completely lost my appetite for what appeared to be discriminatory treatment, so I request a box to go and my check and she makes a very slick comment in a nice/nasty tone. I usually over tip (a lot more than I left yesterday) because I used to be a server as well and I get it. But what I don’t understand is what was the cause for the unjust treatment? Gender discrimination, race discrimination, poor service due to lack of good judgement and/or just catty behavior, as my server/bartender was also a woman. Regardless of which, this was a HORRIBLE first impression of this restaurant and completely ruined my appetite. I do not think I will visit this chain in the future nor...
Read moreOur favorite pizza place closed nearby, and we've always wanted to go to this place in the area. We were met by Cassandra P. very nice server and seated us and made our kids feel welcome. We ordered the thinner style pizzas and got a pepperoni pizza and the other one was a meat style of pizza. They let us know that it would take about 20 minutes to cook the pricing isn't horrible it was $12.00 for the pepperoni and $16 the all meat pizza. These were 12 inch pizzas each they easily fed two kids and three adults. The pizza wasn't the best. Our server was outstanding, the only thing that I didn't like was our kids being charged for a $1.50 each for two cups of water and I didn't see it until after the fact. That's on me I should have looked at the receipt before I started entering everything into the keypad to pay. We were there on 4/13. For two pizzas, charge for two kid drinks that were water, two adult iced teas the total came to $40. Due to the price in not so great pizza we won't be back but if you're looking for a sports atmosphere for a different types of variety of pizza a few draft beers it's a good place...
Read moreDisappointing Walk-In Pizza Experience.
I visited this restaurant expecting a decent pizza, especially given the 4.5-star Google rating, but unfortunately, my experience was quite underwhelming. While our waiter was attentive and friendly, the food itself was below average. As a walk-in pizza establishment, I had hoped for better quality. My son and I started with a Caesar salad that was overpriced and so uninspired that he couldn't even finish it.
For our main course, we ordered a half jalapeño and half Hawaiian Detroit-style pizza. Sadly, both halves were equally disappointing. The jalapeño side was very basic and seemed to have only bacon crumbles for toppings. The Hawaiian side was particularly strange; the pineapple appeared to have been dumped straight from a jar in thick, unappetizing chunks, and the Canadian bacon, if present at all, was sliced incredibly thin.
Overall, I was not at all impressed with the food quality, especially for the price. I genuinely think this restaurant needs to make significant improvements. I'm honestly surprised by the high Google rating based on...
