Read moreI visited Bakery Lorraine (BL), Saturday June 12th, at about 9:15am, at their location in the Rim. Normally my experiences at BL are wonderful but this time I had the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced at any restaurant. Aaron, the man working the barista position at this location on the day I visited was the sole reason for the bad experience. I work in the food service industry and I have to say his behavior was absolutely disrespectful and unacceptable. I ordered a hot vanilla latte and the cashier repeated back my order and confirmed the latte was hot. Aaron brought me an iced latte and I mentioned that I ordered a hot vanilla latte, he responded by saying “Well, the ticket said iced.” First, you should never explain to a customer who spent $50 on breakfast that they’re wrong in the tone he used. The cashier repeated back to me my order, I knew the latte should have been hot. After sitting in silence for 30 seconds he says, “I guess I can remake it.” Before I had the chance to say thank you, he whipped around and slammed the ice coffee in the trash can right next to our table. This was the most disrespectful thing I had seen in a long time, there was no need to disrupt the entire cafe area by slamming the cup into the trash can. Aaron made me hot latte, and brought it to the table in silence and as he put it on the table he made sure to slam it down and whip around the other way before I could offer my thanks again. Unfortunately, the latte was made without vanilla flavoring. I am unsure if this was out of spite or while he was nearly combusting with attitude at the coffee station, it might have slipped his memory. I was tired of dealing with his disrespectful attitude at that point so I just drank the plain latte in silence. All in all, this experience made a very bad impression on BL and it will be hard to return. I especially will never return to...
Read moreI was excited to visit Bakery Lorraine at The Rim with my friend and our kids, but our experience was far from pleasant. Upon arrival, my friend politely asked a staff member to clean a table for us. The staff member curtly responded that it had already been cleaned and only proceeded to clean one of the two tables we requested. When we sat down, we noticed crumbs and debris still on the table. My friend got up to grab a napkin to clean it herself, but I offered to ask the staff member to re-clean it.
I approached a young woman named Natalie and mentioned that the table still had crumbs. She abruptly stated, "I already cleaned that table." I pointed out the missed areas, and when I tried to engage her by asking how her morning was, she responded with a dismissive "good." I then asked if she was feeling flustered, to which she became defensive and upset. Her tone and demeanor were unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome.
As I looked over the menu, I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling. Natalie then approached our table and accused me of staring at her three times. I clarified that I hadn't been staring until she confronted me. Feeling uncomfortable, we decided to speak with the manager, Jen. While we were explaining the situation, Natalie interrupted and continued to be rude. I asked Jen if she was observing the behavior and what could be done. She mentioned she would have a conversation with Natalie, but no immediate action was taken.
Ultimately, we chose to leave without ordering. It's disheartening to experience such poor customer service, especially in a place that prides itself on hospitality. Bakery Lorraine at The Rim needs to invest in better training for both staff and management to ensure a welcoming environment for...
