I’ve been to this location several times but last weekend the two girls working the hostess stand were unprofessional and rude. From the beginning they didn’t welcome their guests. I had to initiate a “hello” and “table for two” - It was like talking to a wall. They took my number and name then we sat in the waiting area right in front of them. As we were waiting, other people who came in after us were being seated before us. My bf went to ask how much longer and why others were being seated first, their response was there were a few more people ahead of us and the other people “probably” checked in online. We continued to wait and realized we were still being skipped. My bf went back to talk to them because I didn’t want to deal with their attitudes and they had dropped us from the list completely even though we were sitting right in front of their faces! They couldn’t take a second to call out my name? They said they texted us, clearly we didn’t get a text! Turns out they put a 0 instead of an 8, which could’ve been avoided if they didn’t have an attitude from the beginning and took a second to confirm the number. We were upset and asked for the manager who was completely incompetent and arrogant! My bf was understandably irritated with him and the hostesses at this point. He could not acknowledge that his employees screwed up and are also incompetent in their hostess positions. The two girls acted like they were too good for that job and the manager wouldn’t address the problem - how they got our number wrong, dropped us from the list and didn’t bother to call our name while we were sitting right in front of them the entire time. He kept shutting us up with “people checked in online” which wasn’t the real issue here. They finally sat us and I asked the server to bring the manager back over but of course he didn’t want to and sent his assistant manager, Rick. Rick was very nice and understanding and listened to our complaints. The two girls who couldn’t do their hostess jobs need to get over themselves or they won’t make it very far in another career. Same with the manager. It’s one thing to make an honest mistake, take accountability and correct it but that didn’t happen here. From the beginning it was like pulling teeth and they failed to acknowledge their wrong doings. Very disappointed in the manager and will not be returning to this location until it’s under new management. I know this review will not impact their business in any real way but I truly hope they learn how to improve their attitudes and basic customer...
Read moreWorst guest service I have EVER experienced. I’ll start with the fact that I work in the restaurant industry as a manager so I am the first person who understands that things happen that are out of your control; however, none of those things should be taken out on the guest. Came in and sat at the bar with a coworker around 10 PM, there were 2 seats available so we sat. Bartenders came over and took our order immediately, drinks delivered and then the manager Neil came up letting us know that there should only be 10 people at his bar top. He first started this conversation with us by accusing us of pulling up chairs rather than being apologetic that HIS staff nor him failed to notice that these chairs have been here and the bartenders had to remove a beer and a check so we could sit down. Instead of taking ownership and apologizing for his oversight he made it our problem and told us we needed to leave. We were the “newest” people to join the bar, 11 people were sitting (including us) and one person was standing next to their friends who were sitting. He went to the host stand to find a table for us, nothing, but we could absolutely wait for a table, NO. Then told us that he could move us outside to a table and get us a “gringo dip or something.” If going outside wasn’t an option, he did let us know that we could add ourselves to the waitlist but we had to move. I’ll also mention that with a restaurant occupancy of 313, 78.25 people should only be allowed in your establishment; however, you’re currently at 84....but don’t worry you removed 2. When selecting a restaurant to get a drink and some food at, I would just skip right over this one! Our server Chris was very attentive though...kudos to you! I’m sure you could watch this entire interaction on your cameras so let me know what you think.
Update: weirdest thing just happened....Manager allowed for 2 chairs to be put back at the bar where we were previously were sitting and they are still sitting there. And the amazing experience continues with my table currently being sprayed with sprinklers. AMAZING!!! 11 people at the bar...
Read moreBEST CUSTOMER SERVICE BAR NONE!!!! My wife and I visited 54th street The Rim last night and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was quite flavorful, and in generous portions. Even the deserts were large portions. My wife had the Carrot cake and I had the Key Lime pie. The Key Lime pie was by far the best I've ever had in a restaurant, the filling had bits of lime pulp, the crust was PERFECT, and the chef topped it off with whipped cream with lime zest! All chilled to perfection! For those of us Key Lime lovers, this a MUST HAVE! I'm not a huge Carrot Cake fan, this one of RARE FEW times that I was absolutely impressed! Flavorful, not dry at all, and the perfect amount of frosting. As good as the food was, I cant say enough about our server Mary. This young lady defines what FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE is! Impeccable timing, a GENUINE polite and caring nature, and attentive. When another server accidentally spilled Aju all over my wife's order, and spilled some of my fries and sped away without more than hasty half mumbled apology before making a hasty exit, it was Mary that bent over backward to make things right. A few moments later the manager Leo materialized and apologized again and insisted on having my wife's order remade at no charge and gave us a free gift certificate as well. In my mind, a mark of a good restaurant is what they do to make things right when a mistake is made. I can state in all candor that there are many "up scale" establishments that can learn quite a bit from Mary and Leo! This was our first time eating there, and we will ABSOLUTELY be coming back! Good food in generous portions, reasonable prices, and customer service that cant be beat, and a great atmosphere. What more can a diner ask?...
