La Panadería, as the name suggests, is a baker's paradise. This little slice of Mexico tucked away in near La Cantera is a testament to traditional Mexican baking, where the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked breads wafts through the air as soon as you approach the store. The interiors is beautifully designed with warm, vibrant colors that create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Each bread is Han-crafted and tells a story of time-honored traditions and meticulous craftsmanship. The Conchas, iconic Mexican sweet breads with their pattern on top, are simply irresistible. Soft, fluffy, and with just the right amount of sweetness, they are a bite of cloud-like heaven. The bakery's artisanal touch extends to more than just their sweet bread. Their Tres Leches croissant is a masterpiece that is incredibly moist and luscious. What sets La Panadería apart is not just their remarkable baking skills, but also their commitment to quality. Every bread, every pastry is made using time-honored techniques and the freshest of ingredients. Their bakers are not just employees, but custodians of a rich culinary legacy that they uphold with reverence and skill. While the bakery offers a seating area, it's often bustling with customers. But don't be put off; the line may be long, but it's worth the wait. The staff are as warm and inviting as their environment, always ready to help with a smile and expert suggestions. A visit to La Panadería is not just about buying bread; it's about experiencing a slice of Mexico's rich culinary heritage. Every bite is a taste of nostalgia, taking you on a delicious journey through the heart of Mexico. If you're a lover of bakery goods or just looking for an authentic Mexican experience, La Panadería is a must-visit. They are preserving tradition, one loaf at a time.

Unacceptable Treatment of Handicap Individuals and Disregard for Business Responsibility I am utterly appalled by the blatant disregard for people's rights and the handicapped laws in Texas at the Panaderia. This incident on September 2nd marked the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Upon my arrival, I was dismayed to find an empty handicap space blocked by a truck unloading goods for the Panaderia Restaurant. Despite my attempts to communicate with the driver, displaying my handicap placard and urging him to relocate, he callously ignored my request. It is important to note that there were other available empty spaces suitable for the truck's unloading needs, yet this option was disregarded. Subsequently, a representative of the store approached me and callously suggested I park elsewhere, to which I vociferously declined. As the driver persisted in his illegal parking, the representative callously dismissed my concerns and walked away. It was only after I initiated a call to the police that the driver reluctantly moved the truck. The lack of empathy and consideration from both the business and its management is abhorrent. After being treated disrespectfully, I went inside and spent $106 on a breakfast for four people (2 adults and 2 kids), only to be disappointed by the quality of the food. The overpriced nature of the establishment left me feeling unsatisfied, knowing that I could have enjoyed better fare at Panera Bread for half the cost. It is disheartening to witness the complete absence of respect for the laws and people in our community. This behavior directly contradicts the sentiments expressed on their website under the banner of "Save Our Cultura." It appears that they operate under the misguided belief that financial prowess affords them the freedom to act without consequence. This is not the case; we are in the USA, where adherence to laws and respect for individuals are non-negotiable. Fortunately, I have incontrovertible evidence of this incident captured on my car's dashcam. I implore the Panaderia to take corrective action, including holding the individual who callously approached me accountable, and ensuring proper training for their delivery drivers. The disrespect and disregard shown to handicap individuals during this encounter is simply unacceptable.

Infested with flies, rude personnel, not fresh baked goods, dirty table and sticky floors, pounding music - definitely not the place I’m going to be visiting or recommending. Original review: When the employees with super long nails are scratching themselves and fixing hair and then with the bare hands handle bread, you know that there is a serious problem with sanitation. Fruit flies are all over the pastries, sour faces, incorrect charges (overcharging l, of course!), their method of wrapping pastries in plastic while twirl them is awful (how can you handle bread like that?), dirty tables, chairs, restrooms, beverage area. Original review: Unfortunately, not as good as expected. First of all, I’ve been a loyal customer of many years since the brothers had a table at the Pearl’s brewery market, I’ve been supportive and kind to their great business idea, brought hundreds of friends and family members to other 2 panaderias, but this location, even though gives a wonderful vibe at the first glance and a pleasant airy Californian style house, the quality seriously went down: past two times the monkey bread was dry and tasted old, personnel wasn’t friendly, takes forever to get your orders but the worst part is when I brought my family to celebrate Mother’s Day I simply couldn’t hear my own Mama because of the extremely loud music. The music is always playing on the uncomfortable noise level. Latter doesn’t have nice art, always get a crooked blob which never happens on Broadway or Downtown locations. Empanadas have less filling that the other locations too. Visited this location 4 times hoping to get a better experience, but it was even worse.

Update::: 8/2023 I never post one star reviews. But if you are reading this it because you are planning to eat at La Panaderia. I have been here many times and it appears that the quality of food, customer service and cleaniness have gone out the door. Service: the cashier seemed to be bothered that we were there. She wouldn't even open her mouth to say they were out of jimica tea. She just nodded side to side when i asked if they were bringing out more tea. But the deal breaker was after our meal and our drink. I went back for a refill at the fountain machine and ice dispenser wad grossly filthy. I hadn't noticed it at first. Bacteria growing at the opening of the dispenser. Globs of grayish brown growth attached to the rubber dispenser. It was disgusting. The place is dirty. It makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. I will be contacting the owner as well. May 2023: went in about 3 in the afternoon. Not sure when they changed from homemade fideo to canned stuff. The taste and smell reminded me of Campbell soup or Chef Boyarde. It didn't even look like fideo. Just look at the pictures. I know things changed, especially after Covid but just know what to expect. It's seems like it's "open the can and heat type of homemade". Still pet friendly even inside on the sofa (weird) . We usually eat outside when we bring our fur baby.

One of the best brunch places in San Antonio. Their pastry selection is all you could ever dream of and to top it off they have a variety of coffee, lattes, teas and chocolate caliente to pair it with. The location is prime, lots of natural light with easy access to the green line. We ordered the grilled chicken bowl which was amazing! It comes with 2 dressings on the side which I love so that the salad doesn’t begin getting soggy. Also ordered a milanés torta with a side of fideo. My husband loved the torta, the fideo was different than other Mexican restaurants. For example, normally the fideo’s I’ve tried are cooked mainly in chicken broth with very thin fideo, the La Panaderia one changed it up. Theirs is a thicker consistency and tomato flavor is more prominent than chicken flavor, also the pasta used is more close to noodles than fideo. Both types are tasty. My 2 year old son had the kids croissant with ham, Swiss, and black beans! He loved it! If you have two little ones one order is probably enough, we took half of it to-go for his dinner. Lastly, we had a skinny vanilla latte accompanied with their almond croissant (picture below), SCRUMPTIOUS.
