Whataburger — Restaurant in San Antonio

You know how I know that "Whataburger" is bottom of the barrel food? I've tried the burgers at multiple locations and I haven't found any that tastes very good. I really think it's just the burgers that fall really short because I do enjoy their breakfast and shakes. I am giving this particular "Whataburger" 1 star ratings across the board dew yo multiple reasons. I was blessed with a power outage at my house so I went out to get some cool air. I figured I would stop by and get my son and I a shake. It was around 1am and we decided to go in and order. First, when we walked in the dining area was warm and muggy, very undesirable conditions. The cashier was talking really slow like he might have been on something that was inhibiting his processing skills. I just wanted a shake so I looked past these discrepancies. The icing on the cake was that they decided to start cleaning the machine that makes the shakes at this time so no shakes at this time. I can understand that they need to clean the machine but can they pick a better time. I was far for the only customer here at this time. They had a really long line of vehicles wrapped around the building and there were customers inside. So why would you choose a time when it was that busy to shut down the machine? That's bad business sense. I haven't really been a big "Whataburger" fan but this is just sealing my opinion about this...

I never eat fast food. We had the teen nieces and nephew over to visit. When they got hungry, I offered to pick something up. They all agreed on Whataburger. My wife and I decided not get anything since we’re not into junk food. I thought the most convenient option for me as a consumer and you as a vendor was to download the app and order curbside pick up. Since this place is literally 5 minutes away, I waited until I got in the Car before confirming my order. I would rather wait a bit than half my food waiting and getting cold. I arrived at the beginning of my pick up window and confirmed my arrival. I got my food and drove home. NGL the food smelled good and I decided to cheat. I reached in and grabbed a fry. They were cold with no hint of warmth whatsoever. I grabbed a fry from all 3 containers and they were all cold. I wasn’t eating and I was pulling into my driveway. I just gave the kids their food. The 3 piece chicken meal only had 2 chicken strips and no Texas toast as advertised. The kids didn’t complain about the fries, but they didn’t even eat more than a few. The entire food industry is bad and fast food is like the bottom of the barrel of bad food service. I’ll never eat at Whataburger or any fast food joint but had to share my experience so that others in my position can avoid this...

Had a great visit to Whataburger today, and everything was just right! The food came out hot and fresh, and the service was friendly and fast. I ordered the chicken tenders, and they were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside—easily some of the best tenders around. Of course, no Whataburger meal is complete without their iconic fries, and dipping them in the creamy white gravy took them to the next level. Definitely a comfort food favorite!

I also tried two shakes: the classic chocolate and the new banana pudding shake. The chocolate shake was rich and smooth as always, but the banana pudding shake really surprised me—sweet, creamy, and full of nostalgic flavor. It’s a great new addition to their shake lineup and definitely worth trying if you’re a banana fan.

The dining area was clean, and the team working today made the experience even better with their positive attitude and attention to detail. You can tell they care about delivering good service.

Overall, this Whataburger location continues to deliver consistent quality and a satisfying experience. I’ll definitely be back soon—and probably ordering that banana pudding...
