I used to live in San Antonio a few years ago, and coming back years later, I was looking forward to eating at Pasha. Upon arrival of the Pasha Express on Culebra Road the day I arrived to San Antonio, there were three employees visible to the customers. We waited for TEN MINUTES before anyone helped us. One guy was planted near the cash register, one guy was staring into the fryer, and the third guy spent over ten minutes working on the same bowl with the customer ahead of me. Think of the setup like Chipotle, how fast do you go through the line at Chipotle, five minutes from start to finish? And yet here I am, ten minutes later waiting until I ask one of the guys "excuse me, can I please be helped?"
I begin creating my bowl, and for the meat options, I look on the back wall on the chicken kabobs currently being grilled or the four skewers of fresh shawermas to choose from. I ask how long will it take for the chicken kabobs to be fully cooked. After hearing a response of seven minutes, and calculating that I've already waited ten minutes, I decide to bypass my optimal protein option. I go with the chicken shawerma. Rather than the employee collecting the fresh chicken shawerma from the skewer, he puts his arm into the storage box near where the rice is served, and retrieves the chicken shawerma from the stored supply of who knows when the chicken was made. Why display the shawermas to the customers when Pasha retrieves the chicken from the cold stored box?
I took my to go meal and said to myself, "let it go." Still feeling cheated, I decided to call the restaurant to give Pasha a chance to solve the poorest customer service yet. The manager handles the situation by talking back loudly and after I ask for a refund, he says I can go back to the store. I have already lost time in my life and will not ever set foot in a Pasha restaurant again. Not only was there poor service but when the poor service was brought to the attention of the supervisor/manager, they failed to provide proper customer service. I didn't come on a weekend trip to San Antonio just to spend it waiting at Pasha's. I've already waited enough and I waited so long to receive suboptimal everything.
If you would like to wait an excessively ridiculous and unnecessary amount of time in a setup similar to Chipotle's efficient line system, with more than enough employees who see you and continue to stand at the register, and want to top all that off by getting excited at the display of shawerma only to receive chicken stored in a dark box, feel free to get cheated by Pasha's any day...
Read moreMy wife and I wanted to try something new for our date night so we decided to try this place out. We did an online order and they informed us of when we could go pick it up. When we got there I went into this restaurant I saw that I was busy so I went to the online counter and asked them if they had received my order.they said if I had ordered they would be calling me shortly. So I waited and waited and waited. I could see that they were busy and did want to give them time to get my order but I had been there for 30 minutes already, and I did not want to spend my evening waiting for my food. So I went up to the online counter again, this time I talked to an older man and asked them if my order was ready that had been waiting for about 30 minutes. I could tell he was busy but I also wanted to get my food and just go home and enjoy a date night with my wife. He asked for my name I gave it to him he looked me up and you couldn't find it I went ahead and retrieved the receipt from my phone and I went to show to him and that's when he snapped at me and in an irritated attitude said I don't want to look at your phone. I was shocked that a place where I'm providing patronage would respond to me in that way especially after spending 30 minutes there waiting for my food. I told him this was proof that I had ordered so where's the food. He said he doesn't feel comfortable looking at my phone and I told him I'm just showing him my phone to confirm that this is the place that I had ordered the food from he then walked away from me. The young lady then approached me I gave her the name that the order was on and she had confirmed that they did not have an order for us. They had one for my wife's name but not mine. Then that older guy I was talking to told me "will I did call this name twice and no one answered "and this was an outright lie!!! I got my order and left I work too hard to have to deal with this kind of treatment and even the food wasn't all that great for what we paid for it never going...
Read moreOkay, when I came to Pasha Express, I was expecting the quality of the main branch on Wurzbach. I ordered one chicken shawrma wrap, and one Falafel. The bread was too think and small for a falafel wrap. A good quality Mediterranean food place uses thinner and bigger bread. This bread is used only by people who have no experience in making Mediterranean food or low taste standard. the chicken taste was alright. For the Falafel, I don't know if they make it from the scratch or they use the box, my assumption is box, but the texture of the Flafel was too hard, and the flavor was weak. Also, they do not have Tahini sauce, how can you be a Mediterranean restaurant that serves Falafel and shawarma and you don't serve Tahini. This was another great disappointment. The beets, they used canned beets instead of pickled beets. The difference, the pickled is crunchy, the canned are soft. A typical Shawarma wrap should have lettuce, tomato, cucumber pickles, tahini sauce, or garlic sauce. The garlic sauce was good, I give them that. The fries was good. customer service was good. What they need to do is use better bread. this small bread shows a carelessness and laziness in making a shawarma wrap. The bread is even too small to complete the wrap. The shawarma become a shawarma TACO not even a wrap. Maybe this restaurant will receive complement by the inexperienced eater. but people with experience in Mediterranean food will know what I am talking about. NEVER use this small thick bread. I hope that there was a shawrama federation to sue you for the way you insulted the shawrma, but unfortunately, there is not. but I hope, you will have the integrity and decency to fix your grave Shwarmatic mistakes, and falafel too. THIS IS...
