Wing Daddy's Sauce House — Restaurant in San Antonio

Not sure where to start. Still sitting here at the bar, waiting for the bartender to quit screwing around with her hair, talking to others and generally forgetting that she is at work. (10:25pm, Monday April 9th, if management wants to look at cameras) The Garlic Parmesan wings had no garlic and no Parmesan, interesting. So I asked for a side of mild, regular buffalo wing sauce to help hide the flavor of the Fry Oil that was the only identifiable flavor in the Garlic Parmesan wings. Then the buffalo wing sauce was Waaaay too hot to eat. (Just got ignored at the bar.....again) The Sticky Honey Soy sauce was very good, but still too much breading on the wings. You can taste the fry oil through the wing sauce. Time to change it. As a restaurant owner myself, I know it’s hard to keep up with that, but make someone responsible and that’s it. Still sitting at the bar, waiting on my check, bartender has not acknowledged me for 15 minutes or so. OK, got my check!!! 10:47pm Ok, the bartender took a few minutes to acknowledge my presence at the bar when I first walked in, but there were 4 other people at the bar that she had to ignore first. So I understand, NO. So, she took my drink order ( Crown and Coke in a tall glass), proceeded to get the glass and immediately added Crown in the empty glass. (Whiskey gets poured OVER ICE. ALWAYS ICE FIRST IN A GLASS!) This girl needs TRAINING, not coaching. She has a great smile and just needs to be trained. I was on my 3rd drink and the other two were still in front of me, not cleared. (Check the cameras). I am now closed out, still wings that I could not eat in my basket. No one asked me if I wanted a to go container. I don’t, but good training would have prompted the question and averted the potential bad review, if it were not for the other issues. To close...Great Concept, relatively clean fun place, except that I had to wipe down the bar myself when I sat . Wing sauce/quality needs some attention depending on what you order. The tables seemed to have great service and there were plenty of servers tending to the tables that had patrons, BUT, the bar service was terrible on this night. Hello, again, from the wife and I! This time we will be giving our thoughts on the Wing Daddy's Sauce House on Bitters near 281. As usual in our reviews, we will be fair and unbiased and only do our review based on service, value, cleanliness of the restaurant, and food quality.

We had a party of 5 that evening and were seated quickly. Other than that the service of the entire staff was lacking. We had many times where something was needed at the table and not just our waitress, but any waitstaff, was not to be found. We ordered an appetizer, pictured below, which took about 45 minutes to arrive. When our food actually arrived it was from another waitress who said, " I don't know where any of this goes, so I'll just put it here and you guys can handle it." From looking around the entire restaurant it was only at about 50 percent capacity.

The restaurant was clean, as well as the bathrooms. The parking area did not have great lighting but the area directly around the restaurant was decently lit. They do have an outdoor seating area, we sat inside, but it appeared clean and in good repair. There are plenty of televisions in the restaurant and the outdoor seating area, so there are options for sports fans.

The food was actually very good and everyone enjoyed their meal. They do have quite a few options for the wing sauces and other dishes. There are some healthy options on the menu as well so everyone should be able to find something to try.

Overall value of the food was good. The wings are sold without sides and we thought a combo would have been nice to see on the menu for the wings. The nacho fries, pictured, were very good but again, took 45 minutes to arrive. Nothing is extremely overpriced and they do have a good taco deal on Tuesdays, I think, check website for the actual day.

We struggled on how many stars to give on this one. We were trying to decide between 2 and 3 mainly because of the service issues. We decided on 3 because the food was actually good and everyone has an off night. We may return and try them again to see if it was a one off issue or a trend with the service. First time eating here, at any wing daddy's. This was the heimer location. When you walk in, it smells like a restroom. Service was pretty terrible. The only friendly person was the person who greeted & sat us, but unfortunatelywe never saw her again. But there were 3 others that came to our table, one that took our drinks, one who came from the bar to see if we wanted to order bar drinks, and then the server who took our food order & brought it to us. Not a smile or friendly hello or anything from any of the 3. I hate being taken care of by someone who clearly hates their job, doesn't want to be there, or is just plain annoyed by customers simply walking in the door. And I get it, maybe their dog just died or they got dumped last night and are just having a bad day, ..... but clearly they were having a good time back at their server station area where they kept their big 'ol makeup bags to keep applying lashes & lipstick and having a great time chatting. I'm sorry but clearly you're not working for tips. Then our server takes the order for 7, doesn't write anything down.....cool, go for it, im rooting for ya girl, she repeats the orders back to us per couple and gets them mostly right, we had to correct her a few times...... But don't come back twice to verify the order cuz you could remember who ordered what with what sauce. Speaking of sauce, the wings were GREAT! the cherry Chipotle bbq was delicious and the chicken itself was perfectly cooked. Sweet potato fries were good and I Loooooooved the fireball pina colada. And my 2 year old actually devoured his plate! So food was a hit, just wish the service would've been better, at least friendly. I hate being made to feel like we're not wanted at a place of business we're literally here trying to give money to.....we will definitely order to go...
