CAVA — Restaurant in San Antonio

Tried a few CAVA branches and found this hidden gem because of recommendation from a colleague. Located conveniently in the plaza along with Target, Valero and Olive Garden, plus plenty of outdoor parking, this is one of the best branches I have visited.

Ordered the Steak and Chicken bowl. The bowl ingredients were fresh, tastes extremely healthy and savory. Avocado was fresh and well cut/prepared. Vegetables and salad mixed good with the well done steak & chicken slices. Again, probably the best CAVA branch in terms of food and freshness!

The environment is somewhat quiet, seating arrangements are open and bright from well positioned windows. Since this is online order only, the staff is able to focus on producing quality food without any distractions. Love the fact that you can hangout in the hip seating area and can see their meticulously maintained clean kitchen.

I’d especially like to recommend Joe, the manager, who was accommodating, friendly and understanding. He checked on us regarding the food even though he did not need to. What amazing service!

I love CAVA! I would order from this location at least once a week throughout my whole pregnancy and the food was alwaysssss amazing. Fresh, warm and just perfect. I went a couple of months without eating here #newmomlife and I don’t know if the staff changed or what happened but the 2 times I have re-ordered here I have been disappointed. I always order the same thing. A bowl with chicken and all of my favorite toppings. The bowl has always been full. The side pita soft and warm and the pita strips on the bowl nice and crispy. The first time I ordered here again my bowl was half empty and pita chips were old or not cooked enough because they weren’t crispy. I figured maybe it was a once time thing so I ordered it again today and the same thing happened. Grabbed my order & took it back to work to find another half empty bowl and the pita strips on my bowl were not crispy again! Maybe I will try a different location and see if it’s any better. I drove 15 minutes out of my way to eat here because I really like Cava’s food. However, upon arrival, I learned that you have to order online or through their app in order to purchase food at this location. None of which I have the ability to do. They should really change the name, or put some indicator like “Cava Mobile” or something like that. I’m sure the restaurant itself has some moniker for this specific type. Very disappointing.

Update: I’ve just realized that this one is called a cava digital kitchen. However, it doesn’t show that on any of the maps that help you locate restaurants. I use Google maps to find this. Cava needs to make sure that Google maps shows this type of cava restaurant as a cava digital kitchen. That is not googles responsibility.
