Y Bubble & Poke Bowls — Restaurant in San Antonio

I've been visiting this store for about 3 years now, and I have always loved their drinks which are awesome, and the staff, which is always so friendly. However, they recently started making changes, such as removing some menu items, and they started selling toys.

At first, it was fine, as it was just a rack of stuffed animals by the door, then it was some keychains by the counter, then they removed some tables and covered some of the decor with more and more shelves, full of toys and cups. Then it was posters, hats, and charms, and now the counter is covered by pens.

They keep adding more and more to the point where it looks clustered, and hard to move around, it feels very overwhelming. It lost its charm, it's overwhelming and not relaxing at all, it doesn't feel like a boba shop anymore, more like a toy store that occasionally sells drinks. I'm just sad and disappointed, wish they would...

We had dinner last night in the same plaza as Y Bubble so we stopped by to check it out.

As we entered the store, on the wall on the left are pictures of plenty of drink options. There were a couple of unique options that piqued my curiosity. Thankfully, the ladies behind the counter helped explain the ingredients.

My husband decided on mango tea which had so much variety of fresh fruit in it. I tried the cheese strawberry tea. At first I wasn't so sure about the cheese component. It is a cheese foam which is kind of like cream cheese but not heavy. In addition, we bought the mango cake among the desserts available. We haven't tried it yet but look forward to it.

One thing to remember is to ask for the rewards card. For every 5,000 points, you get a free drink. Their recyclable cups are very high quality that I may reuse them.

This review is to show that the management didn’t care enough to make sure there was staff on a busy afternoon. Take care of your employees!

I saw 4 people talking and waiting on their drinks. Another table with 2 people and one had a drink. And a father and daughter walked in before I did. And only one employee working the entire place by herself? On a Friday night. When your location is next to a sushi/Thai restaurant.

So I left to not put anymore labor on the poor kid who was probably relieved that I turned around and walked out. I didn’t have a long wait time or anything. This isn’t a review on the staff...
